Chrysanthemums have a wide variety of flowers and colors, and they all bloom so brightly that they are of high ornamental value even as potted plants. And its chrysanthemum as a family pot also has many benefits, in addition to appreciation, but also can harvest chrysanthemum tea, but also can be used for dietotherapy, medicine to treat diseases, and so on. The flowering period of chrysanthemums is usually in autumn, and many potted friends like to buy them home before they blossom.

But the chrysanthemums bought from the flower market are generally very ugly and are not suitable for chrysanthemums to grow for a long time. Therefore, as soon as many potted friends got the chrysanthemum, they couldn't wait to change the pot for it, but it wasn't long before they found that the plant had bad symptoms of one kind or another. Is it because of our improper method of changing pots?

In fact, just bought chrysanthemums are not suitable to change pots, whether before flowering or other seasons, it is not appropriate to change pots immediately. Because the chrysanthemum has come from the merchant to our home, its conservation environment has changed, and the plant needs several days of slow seedling time to adapt to the new growth environment. If you hastily change the pot at this time, it is often difficult for the plant to take the pot, which leads to a variety of poor plant growth.

For just bought chrysanthemums, neither rush to change the pot, at the same time, even if the watering and fertilization and other operations, is not suitable. After all, during the slow seedling period, the root system did not return to normal growth, but watering and fertilization slowed down the seedling ratio. Therefore, we only need to put it in the bright ventilation of scattered light to maintain the humidity, and there is no need for us to do too much maintenance and management.

If it is just in time for flowering, in order not to affect its flowering, it is recommended to cover the pot for it a few days after slowing down the seedling. If the chrysanthemum is about to blossom, then we can add some watering to keep the pot soil moist. If the flowering period of the plant is coming to an end at this time, we also need to control watering in time to keep the potted soil slightly dry, which is not only conducive to prolong its flowering period, but also improve its ability to prevent cold and freezing.

If the pot needs to be changed, it usually needs to wait until the plant blossoms at the end of autumn. At this time, we can combine with post-flowering pruning, because it will also enter the dormant period after flowering, which is more suitable for pot change operation. However, considering that the temperature is also decreasing, it is recommended to bring more lodging soil to change the basin, or even without removing the persistent soil, just take it off the pot and plant the whole plant together with the persistent soil into a larger flowerpot. Then fill the new pot with soft and breathable soil around the plant.
