Talking to Li Wanzhi about the pineapple field he runs in Longtian Village, Taitung, he feels that the farmer is a pragmatic researcher who must face numerous decisions that require immediate judgment in the process of production. Li Wanzhi, who raises a family with pineapples, is mainly supplied to the Housewives' Union. Because his pineapple medicine is reasonable and transparent, and belongs to the "healthy grade" of pesticide-free fertilizer residues tested by field sampling, he is able to win the trust of the Housewives' Union. Although he has stable customer support, Li Wanzhi is still somewhat helpless about the mass consumer market. For example, due to the limitation of the production and marketing process, the first action of transporting pineapples to Taipei is to send them into cold storage, and in order to make the products that guests get beautiful and intact, they have to harvest pineapples that reach only three to medium in advance. Although the harvest time can be adjusted according to the needs of customers, "harvesting too early will make pineapple flavor insufficient." Even I can't get in.

Li Wanzhi said that the most delicious way to make pineapples taste is to ripen in the field, even slightly oozing a little sweet mucus from the skin, and then pineapples that are not yet ripe cannot be refrigerated, and only those pineapples that are ripe enough to be eaten will be put in the refrigerator. "the originally delicious pineapples have become untasty," says Li Wanzhi, who says that in order to take into account the yield and consumers' preference for the appearance of the fruit, it is a pity that he has to harvest early. This is also a dilemma faced by many producers and consumers.

The flavor and level of pineapple should be more important than size.

In the five-point field, Li Wanzhi planted more than 10,000 pineapples, including the familiar golden diamond pineapple, the sour ruby pineapple, the sweet and sour pineapple, the fleshy watermelon pineapple, and the sweet pineapple Tainan 16, which he thought was the best. Each variety Li Wanzhi has different emotions and stories.

For example, the birthplace of ruby pineapple is in Li Wanzhi's field. It is a variety he cultivated and developed with soil pineapple seedlings in 1983. It belongs to acidity autumn fruit, and other farmers will buy seedlings from him if they want to plant. Watermelon pineapple seedlings are the most expensive, but Li Wanzhi chooses to plant them if he wants to create field diversity. Sweet honey varieties are not heat-resistant, and even setting up a black net is not effective. This year, he tried to set up two-layer net bags, but he was still staggered by the hot sun. "if you grow up safely and you can eat, you are lucky." We wonder how farmers can survive when the purchase price of such laborious pineapple trader is so low. "No, other people don't have to be so tired. If auxin is sprayed on it, the fruit won't be dried in the sun, even if it doesn't fall down, it will grow all the time."

Li Wanzhi continued: "some people dare not eat pineapples for fear of being shaved. In fact, they are pineapples with no standard spray, but although they can shave their tongues, people still like them very much." It turns out that pineapples, which are used to agricultural law, will expand and plump from the top because of the use of medicine, and the leaves of pineapple crown buds will be shorter. "who wants to buy but can't eat just to increase the weight of the leaves?" Li Wanzhi can see through this kind of pineapple that sells well at a glance.

The planting method can not escape the eyes of Li Wanzhi, saying that he is an expert on pineapple. "I am not an expert," he said modestly. "I stopped taking the pineapple in late June this year for at least eight months!"
