Some time ago, I saw many pig farmers discussing whether blue-eared pigs are blue-ear disease. today, I will tell you in detail what blue-ear disease is and how to judge blue-ear disease. it is not blue or blue-ear. Friends should remember this sentence.

First of all, let's take a look at the basis for judging blue-ear disease:

1. Conjunctivitis, eyelid edema, cough, asthma and other respiratory symptoms.

2. Some pig hindquarters are weak, unable to stand or ataxia and other neurological symptoms.

3. The abortion and premature delivery of sows are more than 8%, the stillbirth rate is more than 20%, the mortality rate of piglets in the first week after birth is more than 25%, and there are also deaths in adult pigs.

Pathological changes:

1. The main symptoms of diseased pigs are interstitial pneumonia, and pulmonary interstitial edema is widened.

2. Sometimes subcutaneous pores have blue bleeding spots, and sometimes exophthalmos are caused by conjunctivitis.

3. The lymph nodes are enlarged, necrotic foci can be seen on the section, and sometimes obvious bleeding spots can be seen in the kidney.

4. There are obvious hemorrhagic spots on the body surface of aborted fetus.

5. In the middle and later stage, diseases such as classical swine fever, accessory pig and eperythrozoonosis can be secondary, and the pathological changes will change with the change.

The above is a judgment basis of the whole, and let's talk about the specific changes of blue ears in different pigs.

Sows are initially characterized by mental illness, fever, loss of appetite or not eating at all. A few days later, miscarriages, stillbirths, mummies and weak babies appeared one after another. A few sows have red or blue-purple hemorrhagic spots on their ears, buttocks and skin at the ends of their limbs.

Boars have symptoms of decreased sexual function, such as cough, dyspnea, poor appetite and azoospermia, with an incidence of 50% to 100% and a mortality rate of less than 1%.

The piglets showed more weak piglets, depressed spirit, reduced food intake, unstable walking, pale skin, inflammation and edema of conjunctiva, exophthalmos, light blue skin around the orbit, dyspnea and abdominal breathing in sick piglets. Sometimes there are symptoms of cough and mild fever, with an incidence of about 50% and a mortality rate of more than 20%.

The main manifestations of middle and large pigs are wheezing, cough, dyspnea, abdominal breathing, exophthalmos, influenza-like symptoms, sometimes blue bleeding spots in the pores of the ear and abdominal skin, and some blue or purplish red bleeding spots.

After judging whether it is blue ear or not, let's look at the prevention and treatment methods:

During the period when pigs are infected with blue ear, it is forbidden to vaccinate pigs with live vaccine. secondly, after 3 months of drug control, pigs can try to be vaccinated with blue ear vaccine after stabilizing.

In addition, it is not recommended to make blue ears in pig farms without blue ear disease, because the disease is an immunosuppressive disease, and vaccines also have immunosuppression. the key point of prevention is to prevent diseases such as asthma, classical swine fever, chest transmission and other diseases that cause the disease. another is to strengthen feeding management.
