How to remedy the rotten root of gentleman orchid
First, prepare new soil
The rotting roots of gentleman orchids are mostly due to problems in the flower soil. Whether it is the poor air permeability and drainage capacity of the soil itself, leading to its rotten roots, or improper maintenance at ordinary times, resulting in stagnant water or fertilizer in the soil, resulting in rotten roots, the old soil is no longer suitable for its growth. Therefore, it is necessary to use rotten leaf soil and river sand to make new flower soil with good permeability and high fertility to replace the old soil.
2. Pruning and pruning
Dig up the flower soil in the flowerpot with a small shovel and take the plant out of the soil. Then use scissors to trim the abnormal growth on it. Both yellow leaves and rotten roots need to be cut off. After cutting, soak it in disinfectant for 20 minutes, or apply a layer of disinfectant on the cut to prevent bacterial infection.
3. Replanting
Take out the old soil from the flowerpot and spread a thin layer of new soil at the bottom of the pot. Then gently place the plant in the middle of the flowerpot, straighten it with one hand and fill the pot with the other. When the soil surface reaches about half of the height of the basin, gently lift the plant up, and then fill in the remaining flower soil, so that the root system of the plant is all below the soil surface. After filling, compact the soil surface and maintain it slowly.
