Sow hypothermia is a common and frequently occurring disease in sows. Most of them occur in late autumn, winter and spring cold season. Most people know the harm of pig fever, but low temperature is often more frightening than fever. If the treatment is not timely or improper, it will often result in the death of both mother and son, resulting in greater economic losses to the pig farm.

Cause of the disease:

Excessive addition of drugs, moldy feed, lack of exercise, lack of drinking water, shabby pig houses, and inadequate heat preservation measures. Malnutrition caused by non-standard feeding, insufficient heat production and excessive heat dissipation in sows lead to a drop in body temperature. Factors such as old and weak sows and damp barn can cause hypothermia in sows.

Clinical symptoms:

The ears are cold and the nose plate is cold. Some have a normal appetite. Some people lose their appetite and breathe slowly. The spirit in the early stage is OK, but in the middle and later period, he is depressed, likes lying, does not like sports, has a sagging tail, and has no appetite. Particularly serious will also appear unable to stand, anal relaxation and other symptoms. Some conjunctivitis are pale. The body temperature is between 35 degrees and 38.4 degrees, the stool is dry and the urine turns yellow.

Generally speaking, the body temperature is 38.4 degrees to 37.5 degrees, treatable; 37.5 degrees to 36.5 degrees, trial treatment; below 36.5 degrees, untreatable.

You can find this pattern if you take the sow's body temperature 20 days before giving birth. It can be roughly predicted that piglets in the delivery room will get sick a few days after birth, and the rule is:

For 20 days before delivery, the body temperature of sows is between 38.5 degrees and 39.2 degrees, which indicates that the sows are relatively healthy.

At 38.4 degrees, the piglets became ill about 15 days after birth.

Sows below 38.5 degrees are in sub-health.

The piglets fell ill about seven days after birth at 38.3 degrees.

38.2 degrees. Piglets get sick three to five days after birth.

38.1 degrees or lower than 38 degrees when the piglets were born 1 to 3 days after birth, the piglets were even stillborn.

Treatment: 1

For the reduction of body temperature caused by constipation, you can first use soapy water enema, the amount of soap is 100 grams at a time. Cut it into small pieces with a knife and scald it with boiling water. Rub the unmelted parts with your hands until the soap melts completely. Use a gastric catheter or a vas deferens enema. After four hours of enema, use vinegar 2 deep enema, once a day, seriously can be repeated, until the stool, appetite return to normal.

Can also be used for human use of Kaisailu, according to the human dosage of three times rectal perfusion.

For the low temperature caused by mycotoxin, the high quality and mildew-free raw materials can be replaced. And increase the amount of mildew remover in feed. Conditional can add some liver protection products, because no matter how good mildew remover can not remove all the mycotoxins in the feed. Some will be absorbed through the intestines and enter the blood, destroying the normal function of the liver and other organs, leading to digestive disorders. So we should use some liver protection products at this time.

Intravenous infusion of sugar water:

① 10% sugar water 500ml once a day, 2 to 3 times in a row. If there is no 10% glucose, add 50% glucose 100ml to the saline 500ml.

② if anorexia should cooperate with vitamin c, muscle liver, B6 each 10 ml, the effect is better.

③ brown sugar water plus water drinking or mixing materials, according to the daily amount of 0.5jin per head, no brown sugar can also be used instead of white sugar, symptomatic treatment can be selected.

④ epinephrine hydrochloride, sodium camphor sulfonate intramuscular injection, adrenaline hydrochloride injection 1 to 2 milliliters each time, once or twice a day. Sodium camphor sulfonate needle, sow 10 to 20ml at a time. Mild cases can be injected once a day, and severe cases can be injected repeatedly every four hours.

⑤ astragalus polysaccharides combined with ceftiofur sodium was injected once a day for two to three days. The above schemes can be chosen flexibly.

Precautionary measures:

Strengthen feeding and management, feed should be nutritious and comprehensive. Control mycotoxins from raw materials, find ways to provide adequate drinking water for pigs, maintain a reasonable herd of pigs, and keep two to seven more sows. Sows with more than seven births can be eliminated according to the situation. The pigsty should be kept clean, hygienic, dry, warm and ventilated.

The purpose of writing this article is to tell you that in the actual production, if the sow has loss of appetite or does not eat food, when the body temperature is below 38.5, do not think that no fever is normal, should be timely symptomatic treatment. Second, in the actual production of sows should be observed frequently, early detection of problems and early treatment. When the sow is normal, the piglet can be raised more easily. In order to truly achieve more life, less death, faster growth.
