Porcine eperythrozoonosis is an infectious disease caused by Rickettsia porcine eperythrozoon parasitized in red blood cells or plasma. Large and small pigs are easy to be infected, with high morbidity and mortality in piglets, which mostly occur in summer and autumn. especially in high temperature and humidity weather, it is relatively rare in winter. In recent years, whether free-range farming by farmers or pig raising in large-scale farms often occur, which poses a serious threat to the health of the broad masses and brings great economic losses to the pig industry.

(1) symptoms

Diseased pigs are often depressed, have no appetite, and their body temperature rises to more than 40 ℃. The course of the disease is long, the visual mucosa is pale and yellow-stained, and some skin colors are also white. Limbs twitching, trembling, diarrhea, dark yellow stool, sticky, fishy smell. Acute cases can die within 3 days. Sow infection, mostly manifested as fever without food, jaundice, anemia, weight loss leading to non-estrus or oestrus also repeated infertility.

(2) diagnosis

According to the epidemic season, the characteristics of the disease and clinical symptoms, when the disease is suspected to be porcine eperythrozoonosis, a small amount of porcine blood suspected of eperythrozoonosis is about 1 ml smear, diluted 10 times with normal saline and covered with glass slides. 400 × 600 was observed under a microscope, and it was found that there were various forms of swimming on the surface of red blood cells and plasma, which could be diagnosed as porcine eperythrozoonosis. The accuracy is more than 95%.

(3) Prevention

1. Strengthen feeding and management, improve the hygiene of livestock houses, and eliminate stress factors.

2. Insecticides should be sprayed frequently in summer and autumn to prevent insects from biting pigs.

3. In the implementation of preventive injection, ear labeling, castration and other feeding management procedures, instruments should be replaced and strictly disinfected.

(4) treatment

The disease should be detected, diagnosed and treated early in order to control the disease in time and reduce the loss. First of all, sick pigs should be enclosed, isolated from healthy pigs, and dead pigs should be treated innocuously.

1. Benier, according to 5 mg / kg body weight, intramuscular injection once a day for 3 days, when the dosage is large, it is best to divide the deep intramuscular injection.

2. Sulfamethoxine was injected intramuscularly according to 0.1 ml / kg body weight once a day for 3 days.

3. Oxytetracycline was injected intramuscularly once a day for 3 days according to 15 mg / kg body weight.

4. In the recovery stage, hemoglobin, vitamin C needle, inosine needle and vitamin B12 needle are commonly used for intramuscular injection for 2 to 3 days to achieve the purpose of anti-anemia and strengthening physique.
