The flower industry in Taichung City is booming and its quality is well-known. This year, however, under the influence of COVID-19, export sales have been blocked. Taichung Municipal Bureau of Agriculture has successively held campus flower courses to revitalize the flower industry. at present, a total of 155 schools have signed up, with a total of 20, 4000 applicants. On the 3rd, a flower art class was held at Waipu Primary School, which attracted 200 students to learn flower arrangement, one after another said that they had a great sense of achievement and felt quite satisfied with the completion of the work.

Taichung Agriculture Bureau said that Taichung flower industry is rich and diversified, with a cultivated area of 1356 hectares. The main producing areas include Houli, Xinshe, Waipu, Beitun, Shigang, Dongshi and other areas. the main products are Oncidium, Lily, Gladiolus, Spiraea, Fire Crane, National Orchid, Colored Sea Taro, Bethlehem Star and so on. The annual output of cut flowers has reached 200 million, which has always been loved by consumers at home and abroad, but this year due to the influence of COVID-19 's epidemic situation. The demand for flowers has shrunk sharply.

In order to reduce the impact of the epidemic, the Taichung Agricultural Bureau coached the Taichung Farmers' Association to conduct campus floral promotion courses with the theme of "Flower Mulan blooming," and invited professional floral teachers to go to schools at all levels in Taichung, using flowers on the ground in large quantities. Lead students through hand-made experience, close contact with flower design and layout, to enhance their love of flowers. Many students who have taken the flower art course say that the flower design experience is very fresh and there is a great sense of achievement after the completion of the work, which makes them feel very happy and satisfied.

The Taichung Municipal Bureau of Agriculture expressed the hope that through the campus flower art course, students can learn about the real estate industry, enhance their understanding of Taichung flowers, cultivate a sense of beauty, and hope to further enhance the public's love of flowers, increase consumption, and help flower farmers tide over the difficulties.
