Spring Maintenance of Potted Flowers Rose

Early spring, the earth recovery, temperature gradually picked up, family potted rose also began to sprout, in order to make the future branches bloom, we must do the following management work.

In order not to affect the continued growth of potted roses, pot change must be carried out in early spring before the buds and new roots have not sprouted (early and mid-March), and the plants are less damaged when changing pots; do not water before changing pots, so as not to loosen the soil. When operating, remove the whole pot of roses, remove part of the surrounding old soil with bamboo sticks, retain the mulch soil, avoid excessive damage to the root system, and cut off the old roots with rotten and weak roots, so as to promote new roots.

Use a basin that is a little bigger than the original basin, spread a layer of coarse charcoal residue or put some broken tiles at the bottom of the basin to facilitate drainage, spread a layer of retting hair, hoof horn, broken bone or delayed organic fertilizer containing more phosphorus on it, and finally fill it with culture soil (the basin soil should not be too full), pier solid, pour water once, and put it indoors where there is scattered sunlight.

After watering, fertilizing and changing pots, irrigate water once, and then according to the dry and wet conditions of the pot soil, water shall be supplied according to the principle of not watering or watering thoroughly. Watering should be carried out around noon, the water temperature is slightly higher than the soil temperature, after changing pots of roses, because there is sufficient fertilizer in the pot soil, do not fertilize again in the first month, after the new buds grow, depending on the nutrient consumption of the pot soil, the thin liquid fertilizer containing more phosphorus can be applied once a week. After the above careful management, to the middle and late May, roses will bloom colorful flowers.
