4 protein

The source and level of dietary protein in piglets directly affected piglet diarrhea. Weaned piglets had good adaptability to animal protein (fish meal, blood meal), but poor adaptability to plant protein. The digestive tract and its enzyme system of early weaned piglets are not fully developed (Pekas,1991), and the protein secretion of digestive tract can not reach the peak until 5-6 weeks old (Corring et al., 1978).

Studies by Ampson, (1996) and Kelly (1990) have shown that soy protein is associated with intestinal injury and diarrhea in piglets. The need for protein in piglets is essentially the need for amino acids, which can be prevented from diarrhea by adjusting the level of amino acids in the diet. Liu Tao et al (1999) added 1% glutamine to the diet of weaned piglets and the results showed that it could significantly reduce the frequency of diarrhea in weaned piglets (P
