The flowering period of the orchid coincides with New Year's Day's Spring Festival. It is a very important festival flower with a dignified and graceful appearance, green tall and straight, large and colorful flowers, and is particularly attractive. But some friends found that although the flowers of the magnolia were blooming, they were stuck in the middle of the leaves. We call this phenomenon "clip arrow", so what should we do in such a situation? The following Xiaozhi has sorted out some reasons and solutions for you.

1. Temperature discomfort

The flowering of orchids and the growth and extraction of flowers and arrows need the stimulation of a certain temperature environment, that is, "temperature difference stimulation". This is like a certain plant flowering needs a certain low temperature "vernalization" to promote bud development, normal flowering is the same. The flowering of Magnolia needs a day-night "temperature difference stimulation" of 5 to 10 degrees to promote the normal growth of its flowers and foil. If the ambient temperature requirement is not met (the ambient temperature difference is small or there is no temperature difference at constant temperature), it will affect the growth and development of its bud and blossom, resulting in "arrow entrapment" in flowering.

Solution: move the orchid to a warm place indoors during the day and put it next to a cold window at night, so that the arrows can be drawn out normally after 3-5 days of adjustment. The flower and arrow parts of the orchid can also be completely covered with black plastic bags, and the positive tendency of plants can be used to stimulate the growth of flower and arrow.

Second, the basin soil is too dry

Magnolia is a kind of plant that likes water very much, especially during the period of flowering and arching, the demand for water is relatively large, so there is no shortage of water. If the soil in the basin is dry and short of water at this time, it will certainly affect the normal growth of Magnolia, and the water and nutrients can not meet the growth of flower buds and arrows, which will lead to "arrows".

Solution: water the magnolia in time and replenish the water. Spraying water mist around the soil surface of the basin can increase the environmental humidity, promote the growth of flowers and arrows and alleviate the symptoms of "entrapment of arrows". Xiaozhi remind: spray water spray to avoid spraying on the bud, with the bud stained with water to cause rot.

III. Improper fertilization

During the flowering period, Magnolia should stop using nitrogen fertilizer and increase the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. If too much nitrogen fertilizer is used, it will inhibit the growth of gentleman orchid buds and flower arrows, resulting in poor bud growth and difficult extraction of flowers and arrows.

Solution: timely flooding of the root soil to dilute the excess nitrogen fertilizer in the basin soil. Then properly irrigate or spray some water-soluble fertilizer of potassium dihydrogen phosphate in a ratio of 1 to 1000 times. It can promote the growth of buds and arrows.

4. Root system damage

Cymbidium is a kind of special flower. The false bulb of adult Cymbidium has a lot of nutrients, and every three leaves will form a bud. Therefore, whether the orchid blossoms or not has a lot to do with its leaf stock. The bud usually hides dormant in the thick false bulb and will grow and develop when the right time is right.

If the root system of Cymbidium is damaged during the flowering period in autumn and winter, and it is unable to absorb water and nutrients to supply the growth of the bud, the bud can not bloom normally only with the nutrients in the pseudo-bulb. In the early stage, even the bud will grow, but in the later stage, the water and nutrients can not keep up, it will inevitably grow weak, so that the arrow stem of the flower can not be pulled out normally, and finally sandwiched between the leaves.

Solution: if it is caused by rotten roots, we can't ask it to continue to blossom normally. The only thing we can do now is to cut off the poor growth bud and save the consumption of nutrients. And timely treatment of the damaged roots, replanting, the root system of Cymbidium is the most important.
