1. Fertilizing according to the characteristics of fertilizer:

Inorganic fertilizers include special fertilizers for flowers, fruits and leaves, as well as compound fertilizers. Organic fertilizers include mature poultry fertilizers and uncooked bean cakes, sesame sauce dregs, horseshoes and so on. Fertilization should be selected according to different flower varieties and different growth stages. For example, flowering woody plants should apply compound fertilizer during vegetative growth, special fertilizer for viewing flowers at flowering stage, and special fertilizer for ornamental fruits at fruiting stage. Sprouting fertilizer should be applied before plant sprouting or early leaf expansion, and nitrogen fertilizer should be applied in this period, supplemented by phosphorus and potassium fertilizer; fertilizer should be applied from pre-flowering to flowering stage, and phosphine fertilizer should be applied in this period; topdressing should be applied after flowering to fruiting stage, and compound fertilizer with complete nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium elements and trace elements should be applied in this period; base fertilizer should be applied in dormancy or overwintering period, combined with soil improvement measures, organic fertilizer should be applied in this period.

Third, fertilize according to the growth of flowers:

Different flowers need different soil environmental conditions, and when the environmental conditions are very different, the flowers will be weak if they do not adapt to the growth. Fertilization should be determined according to the growth potential, the same variety, healthy plants can apply sufficient fertilizer according to the instructions for fertilizer use, plants with weak growth should reduce the application amount according to the situation, and then gradually increase to the normal application rate. The plants with weak growth have weak ability to absorb and bear fertilizer, and if the dosage is too strong, the result will be counterproductive.

In a word, rational fertilization should follow the principle of the balance of nutrient elements and the combination of organic fertilizer and inorganic fertilizer, and apply flexibly according to the species and growth status of flowers. At the same time, it should be noted that it is not suitable to apply fertilizer when the temperature is high around noon, but not to apply thick fertilizer, and bottom fertilizer should be applied when changing pots or transplanting flowers and trees.
