Flower and tree striping propagation is to bury the branches of the plant in the soil, use the nutrition of the mother plant to germinate new roots, and then cut the new roots from the mother plant and plant them separately. Its characteristic is that the branch can take root without leaving the mother plant, the survival rate is high, but the operation is troublesome, the reproduction quantity is small, and it is more suitable for family flower cultivation. Striping propagation can be divided into ordinary striping, high-altitude striping and other activities, which can be operated according to different types of flowers and trees.

Ordinary pressing is suitable for tufted flowers and trees, such as wax plum, spring welcome, mast, jasmine and so on. Select the base of the 2012 branch for ring peeling, then cut a trench 10 to 15 cm deep along the rhizosphere or the open edge of the basin, bend the branch down and press it into the soil, use wire to bend the branch down to prevent it from bouncing, and then cover the soil to expose the branch tip and tie it with a stick to prevent it from breaking. This method is mostly carried out in early spring or late autumn. In spring, cut off the mother plant in autumn; in autumn, cut off the mother plant in the following spring.

Recumbent pressing is suitable for flowers and trees with long or trailing branches, such as chrysanthemum, Fujimoto rose, etc., whose branches are bent and lying flat in the soil surface or shallow ditch, covered with soil, and cut off from the mother plant after rooting.

Soil pressing is suitable for flowers and trees that are not easy to bend at the base, such as Yingchun, Chinese wolfberry, eight immortal flowers and so on. Before pressing, first cut the cortex at the base of the branch, and then cultivate the soil 30 to 40 cm to keep the soil moist. Plant when the branch is cut off from the mother plant.

High-altitude pressing is suitable for flowers and trees without tillering buds at the base, such as sweet-scented osmanthus, Milan, Magnolia and so on. High-altitude pressing is usually carried out in late spring and early summer, generally selecting biennial strong branches, first peeling or scratching around the base of the branches, reaching as deep as xylem. After being treated with rooting hormone, bind the plastic film 3 to 5 cm below the wound and fill it with moist moss, peat soil or fine sand. Seal the mouth and leave a little space in order to replenish moisture and keep the matrix moist. After several maintenance, it was cut off from the mother plant after autumn or the following spring and planted in flowerpots or open fields.
