There are probably three reasons for the yellow leaves of magnolia. If it is because of soil discomfort, you can drop vinegar or ferrous sulfate at the same time to improve the soil quality, or directly replace it with slightly acidic sandy soil with good drainage; if it is due to lack of light, it can be transferred to places with good light conditions such as balconies and windowsills for maintenance; if the temperature is too high, it can be moved to a cool place with good ventilation and reduce the temperature by spraying water around it.

1. Soil discomfort

Reason: Magnolia is a plant that needs soil culture, so whether the soil is suitable for its growth conditions has a great impact. If the soil is alkaline, seriously consolidated and poor drainage, it is not suitable to grow magnolia. The wrong soil selection will seriously hinder its growth, because it is difficult to absorb nutrients, the plant will be malnourished and the leaves will be yellowed.

Measures: the pH of the soil can be changed by applying vinegar or ferrous sulfate to make the soil more suitable for the growth conditions of magnolia. You can also dig up the plant directly and replace it with sandy soil with good drainage and slightly acidic properties to replant.

two。 Lack of light

Reason: magnolia like the sun, only when there is enough light, it will grow fast and well. If there is too little sunlight in its maintenance environment, it is easy to lead to poor growth of magnolia. It is difficult to grow a bud, the leaves will turn yellow, and even the flowering will be affected to a certain extent.

Measures: Magnolia can be transferred to the courtyard, balcony, garden and windowsill and other places with better light conditions to ensure that it can receive sufficient sunshine. But you should also pay attention to blocking the strong direct light in the middle of summer.

3. The temperature is too high

Reason: the growth of magnolia requires a high temperature, and the temperature is too high or too low is not conducive to its growth. Too high temperature will accelerate its water evaporation, so that water supply exceeds demand, resulting in yellowing of leaves.

Measures: when the temperature is too high, we should pay attention to transfer the magnolia to a cool place with good ventilation to enhance air permeability. And can spray water to reduce the temperature and increase the humidity.
