A little common sense of watering, watering time.
The most basic requirement of a good gentleman's orchid is to master the correct watering method, whether the gentleman orchid grows slowly or fast, glossy leaf green or yellow wilting, continuous flowering or no flowering or clipping, all may have light with watering.
A little common sense of watering magnolia
1. The orchid should be watered in the right amount.
Some people hear that the magnolia is a kind of plant that likes to be moist, so they water it every day, causing the basin soil to be long-term; too wet, the soil air is insufficient, the root system is seriously lack of oxygen and rot; the other kind of person is afraid of watering too much, the gentleman orchid will rot the root, every time only a little water or spray a little with the kettle, the water is on the leaf, in fact, the inside of the basin soil is dry, as a result of a long time, the gentleman orchid grows slowly, the leaves wilt, and even wither and die.
The correct way is that the basin soil should not be watered, but should be watered thoroughly without leakage, which can not only ensure the uniform contact between the water and the root system, but also help to absorb the root and avoid the loss of soil nutrients. If only a little water is watered, the roots in the depths of the flowerpot will not get moisture, and the deep roots will clump and separate from the flowerpot to form a cut-off layer, and as soon as it is watered, the water will leak out from the basin wall, so that although it has been watered, the middle and lower soil is actually dry.
2. Watering time and water temperature of Cymbidium
Watering in spring is appropriate at 8: 9 a.m. to trap tap water or well water for 2 or 3 days and make the water temperature close to room temperature. The summer watering time is about 7 o'clock in the morning, and don't water it when the temperature is high at noon. For 1-2-year-old Xiaolan, it can be watered once a day, and the watering cycle can be flexibly controlled for more than 3 years according to the dry and wet conditions of the soil in the basin. It is appropriate to water at noon in winter. Due to the low soil temperature, the soil temperature can be watered for 30 to 35 ℃, so as to increase the soil temperature and help the orchid to flee and bloom early.
3. Water quality treatment
To irrigate the water of gentleman orchid, tap water is mostly used in cities and well water in rural areas. Neither of these two kinds of water is suitable for directly watering seedlings and must be used after treatment. The methods are as follows:
A, pH value of Cymbidium grows well when the optimum pH value is 5.5-6.5, but the pH value of watering water is less than 7, and tap water can be used after being trapped for 1-2 days under natural conditions. Most of the well water does not meet the requirements and needs to be determined. If the pH value is greater than 7, a small amount of ferrous sulfate or potassium dihydrogen phosphate can be neutralized in the water.
B, the fresh tap water and well water temperature is lower than the soil temperature, and contains some impurities that are not conducive to the growth of the orchid. After being trapped in the water for 1-2 days, the substances in the water are oxidized, the impurities precipitate, and the water temperature is close to the soil temperature.
C, soften some tap water and well water contains magnesium carbonate and calcium bicarbonate, etc., the water quality is hard, especially the bicarbonate will affect the absorption of cations by the root system and block the stomata, so the water quality must be improved before watering flowers. The softening method is to add 1g potassium dihydrogen phosphate to every 20kg water.
