Hundred-day red flowers are not only rich and colorful, but also bloom for a long time. The red flowers of a hundred days are born on the new branches drawn in the same year. The more new branches, the more flowers. However, because the sprouting power of hundred-day red is very weak, it is very difficult to germinate if it is not stimulated by pruning, so the pruning of hundred-day red is directly related to the number of flowers. If there is no pruning, there will not be many new branches and flowers will not bloom all over the tree.

Hundred-day red flowers are resistant to pruning, cutting off weak and overdense branches before sprouting in spring, while leaving other annual branches 2 to 3 centimeters short.

After sprouting in spring, it is necessary to pick the shoot once when the new shoot is 10 cm long, leaving only 2-3 buds at the base, and soon grow 2-3 branches. When the branches grow 6-7 leaves, they can control the tree shape and promote the branches to bloom more, but the inflorescences of flowering are smaller. The leaves will become smaller after picking shoots, which can improve the ornamental value.

The inflorescence of hundred-day red flowers blossoms at the top of the branches. when the first batch of flowers bloom, the residual flowers should be cut off. After topdressing fertilizer, it can blossom at one stage of growth. The pruning objects of Bairihong, mainly old branches that have already flowered, must be carried out in the spring before germination after falling leaves.

All the branches that have flowered and borne fruit in the summer and autumn of that year should be cut short by about 2/3, leaving only 3-4 pairs of bud eyes at the base, and the pile length should be about 8-10 cm. When trimming, the cut should be flat and do not tear the wound. After pruning, the branches and leaves cut off should be burned centrally.
