When the orchid grows to a certain point, tillers will grow from the base of the mother plant. This is a way for it to reproduce. The tiller buds can be divided into different plants and planted separately. The split time of Magnolia can be in both spring and autumn, usually from April to May in spring, when the tillers grow to four or five leaves, combined with the mother plant to change the basin.

When ramets, the basin soil should not be sticky, first tap on the basin wall to separate the soil from the basin, then hold the neck of the index finger and middle finger with one hand, and stick the palm flat on the soil surface; hold the bottom of the basin with the other, turn the basin over and pour out the mother plant, be careful not to break the leaves or damage the meat root. Then the soil near the rhizosphere was removed to reveal the connection between the young plant and the mother plant, and the young plant was separated by hand or knife. If the young plants have taken root by themselves, they can be put in a basin with moist culture soil, put in a cool place, water thoroughly after 2 days, and can be maintained normally after 1 week. If the ramet seedlings do not have roots, apply sulfur powder or charcoal powder on the wound to prevent infection and decay. Potted with plain sandy soil is slightly deeper than young plants with roots to avoid lodging. After watering, cover it with plastic or put it in a humid environment, and avoid exposure to the sun. The potted soil should be moist and should not accumulate water. Room temperature requires 20 ℃-25 ℃. New roots can grow in about one month, and then planted with culture soil.

After dividing the young plants, the mother plant was smeared with sulfur powder or charcoal powder, cleaned up the rotten roots and broken roots, and planted in the original basin or larger pot according to the growth situation. It can also be transplanted from September to October in autumn, because this is the time when the orchid is in the period of germination, and it is beneficial to the growth and development of the mother plant or offspring.
