Key points of planting methods of Crystal Mud Flowers
Crystal clay flower is a kind of mini flower cultivation, it condenses miniature plants into exquisite and small life embellishments, pays attention to ornamental and interesting, artistic and imaginative, so that people can feel the endless fun brought by plant growth in a relatively narrow living space.
First, the characteristics of crystal mud flowers
(1) it is very ornamental
Crystal mud is crystal clear and colorful, with sapphire blue, emerald green, agate red and other colors, and the colors can be matched at will; generally cultivated in transparent glass containers, you can not only enjoy the flowers and leaves, but also appreciate the growth process of the root system.
(2) rich in nutrition, good water retention and high survival rate
Crystal mud is a high-tech product, which can provide more nutrients than soil, meet the nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and a variety of trace elements needed for plant growth, the survival rate can reach 95%, the plant growth is robust and neat, the flower color is more bright, and the flowering period is longer.
(3) simple operation, environmental protection and hygiene
Crystal mud flowers are light, easy to handle, suitable for planting, suitable for raising, suitable for protection, time-saving, labor-saving and occupying small space. It is planted in glassware to avoid overflowing sewage from the basin bottom hole when watering, and will not attract mosquitoes and spread diseases and insect pests because of the peculiar smell of the soil.
(4) it can be used as a flavoring agent
Adding appropriate amount of fragrance to the water soaked in crystal mud can beautify the environment, and the ratio of fragrance to water is 1: 100.
Second, the planting method of crystal mud flowers.
Crystal mud is suitable for indoor planting plants that like shade and water. Such as: aloe, hanging orchid, tortoise back bamboo and so on. The planting methods are as follows:
(1) soaking in crystal mud
The masterbatch of crystal mud is rich in color and granular, which needs to be soaked in 50 times water, domestic masterbatch with large particles for 8 hours and imported masterbatch with small particles for 1 hour and 2 hours.
The water used for soaking should be clean, generally choose tap water and rest for two days to release chloride ions in the water. Choose an empty container, pour an appropriate amount of water, and then soak the crystal mud masterbatch, leaving a part of the dry granule masterbatch for reserve.
(2) treatment of plants
Smaller plants are generally selected for transplanting. First of all, observe whether the soil of the plant is hardened, if the soil needs to be sprayed with a certain amount of water, put the plant through the roots after the soil is soft, soak in water for 5 to 10 minutes, wash the roots with clean water, and prune the roots after drying. The principle is: leave new roots, healthy roots, cut off old, weak, rotten roots and over-long whisker roots, generally trim about 1 stroke 3 of the original roots. Be careful not to hurt the main root when pruning. If the root system is damaged or contaminated during pruning, it can be treated with alcohol to prevent rotting roots of breeding bacteria. Specific method: soak the root tip of the plant with 75% alcohol for 3 seconds and take it out.
(3) planting process
1. First of all, observe whether the crystal mud has been soaked. The color of the soaked crystal mud is clear and bright, and the surface is soft and smooth.
two。 Rinse the soaked crystal mud with clean water for 2 or 3 times and drain. Generally, there are no more than 3 kinds of crystal mud with 1 or 2 colors in a vase, the color is deep at the bottom and the color is light at the top.
3. Wash and wipe dry the vase and place the reserved dry particles of crystal mud at the bottom of the bottle to absorb excess water. Spread a layer of bubble crystal mud on the bottom according to the designed color, put the plant in the middle of the container on one hand, put the crystal mud evenly around the root on the other hand, and finally install the second color crystal mud.
4. The height of the crystal mud in the bottle should completely cover the root and 1 '2cm from the mouth of the bottle. After all the crystal mud is put in, lift the plant slightly up to stretch the root, and then gently compact the crystal mud with your hand, so that the plant can be stable without askew.
(4) Management
1. Slow seedling stage
The newly transplanted plants should not be exposed to sunlight immediately. They should be placed in the shade for 3-5 days to slow down the seedlings. After the roots of the plants are extended, the plants can be placed in a place with scattered light for normal management.
two。 Moisture and light
After the crystal mud is soaked in water, the water content is high, which is usually watered once every 15-20 days, but we should also pay attention to observation. if we find that the crystal mud surface is withered, the plants are yellow or there are fallen leaves, we must provide water in time according to the plant characteristics.
Crystal mud cultivation mostly choose shade-loving plants, but it is not without light, generally shade-loving plants should reach 30%-50% of sun-loving plants, long-term lack of light will cause plants to grow leaves yellow. It is best to put the plant in a bright place near the window, or every once in a while put the plant near the balcony, absorb sunlight to restore growth, and then move in the shade.
3. Root treatment
The roots of plants cultivated in soilless culture are easy to rot, mainly because the roots do not adapt to the difference between water environment and soil environment, and are easy to be too wet or stagnant. When the rotten root is observed by the naked eye or smelled from the vase, the rotten root should be cut off in time, and the root system and crystal mud should be thoroughly cleaned before planting.
