1. What is kapok?
Kapok is also called Panzhihua, red cotton, hero tree, spot Zhishu, etc., belonging to the deciduous tree of Kapok family. It is native to India and grows in tropical and subtropical regions. The height is between 10 and 25 meters, palmate compound leaf. Flowers are solitary in the axils of the top branches when flowering, and the color is red, sometimes orange-red, very bright, and the ornamental value during flowering is relatively high.

Kapok is a deciduous tree belonging to the kapok family. It is not a flower but a tree. The height of the tree is between 10 meters and 25 meters. It mainly grows in dry and hot valleys below 1400-1700 meters above sea level and grasslands with few trees. It also grows in valley seasonal rain forest, and many of them are cultivated as street trees. It likes light, dry, warm growing environment, afraid of moisture, low temperature. Cultivation of the best soil with loose, fertile, good drainage and slightly acidic, such soil environment for its growth.
3. Cultivation techniques of kapok
If cultivated in dry and hot areas, most of them bloom first and then grow leaves, but if cultivated in rainforest climate, most of them have flowers and leaves at the same time. Seedling water needs more, to make the soil moist, regular watering, and fertilization once a month. After adulthood, drought tolerance will be strengthened, so water should be reduced, not dry.
