Cymbidium is a wet, fertile and acidic plant, which needs to be cultured in sandy soil with high humus, high porosity and pH of 6.26.7. Mixed soil can be prepared for culture: 70% humus soil, 20% river sand and 10% cake fertilizer are evenly spread in the basin, while the surface is covered with small stones and moss. Pay attention to proper fertilization and change the soil once a year.

1. Types

Gentleman orchids like warm and semi-shady places. Therefore, the demand for soil is relatively high. Soil with high humus and high looseness is necessary for its growth, so loose sandy soil is the best. It likes slightly acidic environment, so the soil pH should be in the range of 6.26.7.

2. Soil preparation

Mixed soil can be selected for cultivation, and the suitable soil can be selected according to different conditions. 70% humus soil, 20% river sand, 10% cake fertilizer can be evenly mixed; 80% peat soil, 20% river sand can be mixed; or 70% pond mud, mountain mud, 30% broken bricks and charcoal can be mixed. You can put some broken stones or moss on the surface of the soil.

3. Points for attention

1. Magnolia is a fertilizer-loving plant, but do not apply too much fertilizer, otherwise it will lead to rotting roots.

2. Pay attention to changing the basin soil once a year, and bury the fleshy rhizome into the soil when planting.
