How to raise white orchids? Need to maintain good ventilation
Flowers white fragrance, summer and autumn open, flowering long, dark green leaves, for the famous garden ornamental tree species, more planted as street trees. Flowers can be extracted essence or smoked tea, but also extract for medicinal purposes, there is a line of gasification turbidity, cough and other effects. So how are white orchids grown? What good ways are there in farming? What do you have to pay attention to when breeding white orchids? Let's take a look at it together with Xiaobian.
How to grow white orchids (basic knowledge):
Best growing soil: family potted white orchids, should choose loose, breathable and rich soil cultivation containing humus. Usually good permeability of the earthen basin, purple basin (vat) or with more plastic basin bottom hole. The soil in the basin should have a certain amount of granular soil of different sizes to facilitate water seepage and ventilation.
Growth humidity requirements: maintain air circulation, and keep the basin soil moist, in order to safely winter.
The best growth temperature: indoor temperature maintained at 12 degrees during the day, not less than 6 degrees at night, otherwise vulnerable to low temperature damage.
The best growth light: move outdoors before and after summer, to be placed in the sunny and ventilated place, sunshine needs to be more than 6 hours. Only sufficient light, in order to grow well, insufficient light will be excessive long branches and leaves, less flowering and even no flowering.
Notes on White Orchid Cultivation:
Fertilizer application: In the vigorous period of white orchid growth (usually May or July or August of each year), flower fertilizer should be applied to white orchids every half month or so, or a little nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer should be applied at intervals of about 20, 2 g to 6 g each time.
Watering points: white orchids should not be watered too frequently or excessively. The correct watering method should be: once the soil in the pot is wet, and when the soil in the pot is slightly dry, there is no need to water it. Remember not to water every day, but spray the leaves regularly with a small watering can. In summer, it should be watered no less than three or four times a month (plus spraying water on the leaves).
Pruning essentials: before entering the room, dead branches, diseased branches, excessive proud branches and over-dense branches should be removed to minimize the nutrient consumption of the plants; the old leaves at the lower part of the branches can be appropriately removed when leaving the room, which is conducive to promoting the growth of new branches.
Pot soil replacement: according to the crown size of white orchids and the age of the length of the replacement of moderate size pots, vats, in order to facilitate the vigorous growth of plants. A small amount of loose soil should be placed in the new pot (jar) in advance, and then water should be poured thoroughly to stabilize the planting.
Propagation points: common layering and grafting propagation.
Ordinary layering: layering is best carried out in February to March, cutting the base of the branches to be pressed into half depth, cutting a section upwards, clamping a tile in the middle, then gently pressing into the soil without breaking, inserting U-shaped thick iron wire into the soil, fixing it to prevent tilting, and then stacking soil. Spring layering, to be sent out after the root bud can be cut off sub-planting.
High branch layering: before entering the nest, select healthy and disease-free young shoots (1.5-2 cm in diameter) on the mother plant, cut cracks at the lower part of the basin fork, and then cover them with bamboo tubes or bottomless earthen pots, filled with nutrient soil, tied with strings outside, careful not to touch, often spray a small amount of water, keep wet, new roots can be produced around May of the next year, and remove them for planting.
Close: close time, from spring to autumn, the whole growing season can be carried out. Most of them are carried out from April to July. 70 cm from the ground is the best place to abut. After binding, wrap it in mud and wrap it outside with leaves to prevent rain washing. After about 60 days, it can be cut off. It is easier to survive by joining, but it is not as vigorous as cutting.
Cutting and grafting: selecting well-developed magnolia branches as scions in the middle and late September, tightly combining the cut surfaces of rootstocks and scions, binding and smearing with plastic film strips, and burying the scions with soil to keep the soil moist. In northern China, scions need to be covered with straw in winter, and the mulch is removed in the spring of the next year. After germination, 4-5 buds on the upper part of the branches are retained, and the rest buds should be removed. After 2-3 years of conventional maintenance, they can bloom.
Disease and pest control: white orchids need to pay attention to aphids and other harmful shoots, must be timely control.
Culture of white orchids hydroponics and soil culture:
White orchid hydroponics: white orchid is a plant that can be inserted into the water. It is of great ornamental value and easy to cultivate. It can purify indoor air. In the early stage of water cultivation of white orchids, attention should be paid to changing water in time and pruning roots. After rooting, attention should be paid to details such as light, moisture and temperature.
1. Ensure adequate lighting
2. Fertilize once a month
3. Water volume control and water selection
4. Timely root pruning
5 Suitable temperature for growth
White orchids:
How to raise white orchids, first of all, white orchids like full light, warm and humid and well-ventilated environment, not cold, not tolerant of shade, but also afraid of high temperature and strong light, suitable for good drainage, loose, fertile slightly acidic soil, the most taboo smoke, typhoon and ponding. Understanding these is the key to raising white orchids. South China is open all the year round under suitable temperature conditions.
