Flower topdressing and changing pots should pay attention to conditions, proper topdressing can promote plant growth and flowering, improper topdressing will lead to plant fertilizer damage, if serious, it will directly lead to plant death.

Conditions for topdressing

First, topdressing should take into account the temperature. The suitable temperature for topdressing is between 15 and 30 degrees. Too high or too low temperature will increase the risk of topdressing and cause fertilizer damage easily.

Second, topdressing depends on the growth form of the plant. It is appropriate to apply nitrogen fertilizer in the growing period of the plant, the flower bud stage, fruiting stage and post-anthesis period of the plant are mainly phosphorus and potassium fertilizer; the newly transplanted plants should not be fertilized prematurely, otherwise it will affect the slow seedling recovery.

Third, time should be taken into account in topdressing. Topdressing should not be carried out at noon in summer and autumn, and it is better to apply foliar fertilizer without direct sunlight in the afternoon or in the evening, otherwise it is easy to burn the leaves.

The method of topdressing

One is the general method of topdressing, digging the topsoil at the edge of the flowerpot directly when topdressing potted plants, and watering the cover soil after putting fertilizer.

Second, after the water-soluble fertilizer and water are mixed and dissolved, foliar fertilizer or water can be applied directly.

The principle of topdressing

The principle of topdressing is "application of thin fertilizer frequently". If you do not grasp the appropriate amount, try to lower the concentration as much as possible, and topdressing frequently, but it is best to apply fertilizer at intervals of one week or more.

A special case of topdressing

First, plants in full bloom basically do not need topdressing, but perennial flowers such as dwarf cattle, geraniums, carnation and sunflowers can also be fertilized in full bloom.

Second, the requirements of ground plants on air temperature are not so strict, and the demand for topdressing can be determined again according to the growth of plants.
