What should be paid attention to when dividing orchids?
Guolanduo was propagated by the method of dividing plants. Ramet time varies from species to species. The species of flowering in winter and spring should be in late autumn, and those in summer and autumn should be carried out before sprouting in early spring. Due to the slow growth of orchids, it is generally possible to split every 2-3 years.
When ramet, the basin soil should be slightly drier and easy to operate. Hold the basin with your hand, gently knock the mother plant out of the basin, carefully remove the soil from the roots, cut off the rotten roots and leaves, be careful not to hurt the leaf buds and fleshy roots, then wash the soil on the roots and leaves with clean water and dry them in a cool place for 3 to 5 hours. When the floating water disappears and the root color is white and soft and slightly wrinkled, cut it between the false bulbs with a sharp clean knife, coat the cut with charcoal ash or sulfur powder for antisepsis, and plant immediately after drying. There should be at least 3 or more seedlings per clump of orchids after split, which is beneficial to restore its growth and will not affect flowering.
