Potted southern evergreen flowers in northern areas, such as camellias, cycads, kumquats, rhododendrons and so on, often have yellowing diseases of iron deficiency, resulting in poor growth of potted flowers.

I. the main causes of iron deficiency in potted flowers

1. Soil causes. The soil in the south is generally acidic, and there is more soluble iron in the soil, which can meet the needs of flowers and plants, but in the north, the soil is alkaline or has a high content of calcium, and the iron in the soil is generally insoluble. The roots of flowers and plants can not absorb iron directly, which leads to the symptom of iron deficiency.

two。 Moisture causes. After a long period of rain, the water in the basin is stagnant, the oxygen in the basin soil is insufficient, and the disturbance of root absorption of nutrients often occurs the symptom of iron deficiency.

II. Main symptoms of iron deficiency in potted flowers

Iron deficiency of potted flowers is first shown in the young leaves, but the symptoms of the old leaves are generally not obvious. The veins of the young leaves are green and the mesophyll is yellow. When the disease is serious, the whole leaf is yellow. After iron deficiency, the photosynthesis of leaves was affected, the growth of flowers was poor, and the ornamental ability decreased.

III. Methods

1. Potted camellias, cycads, kumquats and other southern flowers and trees in the north should be mixed with other soil materials to form acid nutritious soil, which can keep the nutritive soil acidic for a long time, so that the flowers are not easy to lack iron.

two。 Ferrous sulfate, bean cake, pig manure and water were mixed with ferrous sulfate, bean cake, pig manure and water according to the ratio of 1 ∶ 2 ∶ 6 ∶ 100. when all ferrous sulfate, bean cake, pig manure and water were mixed and fermented in a tank and exposed to sunlight, they could be used to water potted flowers. Take the upper thin fertilizer solution diluted with water, water the flowers, then fill the tank of fermented fertilizer with water to ferment again, and then take the upper fertilizer solution to add water for use. Fertilization can be applied about 4 times a month from flower growth in spring to summer.

3. During the growing period, when the leaves of potted flowers are yellow and appear early symptoms of iron deficiency, 3% ferrous sulfate can be used in the basin, and the effect is better.

4. When iron deficiency symptoms occur in potted flowers, ferrous sulfate and urea can also be used in a ratio of 1 ∶ 2, and 0.2% ferrous sulfate liquid sprayed on the leaves can also treat iron deficiency diseases in time.

5. When potted flowers grow rapidly, iron deficiency and yellow leaves often occur in Rain Water. Measures should be taken to protect potted flowers from rain in rainy seasons such as mildew and rain, and potted flowers should be temporarily put indoors or sheltered. In addition, when there is more water in the open-field pot in the rainy season, the pot will be drained in time.
