How to cool clivia in summer

Clivia is tropical in origin. Like half shade, the temperature is 10 to 25 degrees optimal, suitable for growth in loose fertile slightly acidic organic soil. It is hot in summer in northern China, which is not conducive to the growth of Clivia. Special conservation measures should be taken to cool Clivia.

Shade cooling: summer light is strong, shade measures must be taken. At this time, it is best to let it receive 2 hours of morning light every day, and it is better to be in a grape rack or under a large shade. Because of this environment, direct sunlight local temperature 5-10℃, and good ventilation.

Watering cooling: summer every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., small sprayer can be used to spray water several times to the foliage, while watering the ground, both to reduce the temperature within the range, but also to increase air humidity.

Sanding cooling: a thick layer of coarse sand on the balcony, and then put the Clivia basin on the sand surface, sprinkling water on the sand surface 2-3 times a day in summer to reduce the temperature.

Appropriate watering: Generally, the water content in the soil should be maintained at about 30%.

Fertilizer control: summer if the temperature can be reduced to 25℃ below, can be applied once every half a month thin liquid fertilizer, so that Clivia can shorten dormancy or not dormancy, early flowering. If the temperature is above 25℃, stop fertilizing, otherwise it is easy to cause rotten roots.
