To identify the water shortage of Magnolia, there are many ways, such as looking at the pot soil, knocking the flowerpot, weighing and toothpick observation. Look at the pot soil to see whether the surface of the pot soil is dry, dry can be watered, knock the flowerpot with a wooden stick, the sound should be clear to replenish the water, say the weight needs to lift the flowerpot to feel the weight, if light is watered, the toothpick can be inserted into the soil for two days, there is no trace after it is taken out, and then watered.

1. Look at the basin soil

The simplest and quickest way to identify the lack of water in the orchid is to directly see whether the surface of the basin soil is dry. If the soil is white and dry and cracked, then it should be watered once in time. On the contrary, if the soil surface is moist, you can water less, so as not to cause stagnant water and rot the roots of plants.

2. Knock on the flowerpot

If you are really not sure whether it can be watered, you can hit the flowerpot with a small stick. If the sound is louder and crisper, it means that there is less water in the basin, and you should replenish it. The sound is stuffy and thick, but the soil is moist and moisture is sufficient.

3. Weighing

Generally speaking, when cultivating a gentleman's orchid, you have a good idea of the weight of the flowerpot, and when you cannot judge whether there is a shortage of water, you can lift the flowerpot to try its weight. If it is a little lighter than when it was watered before, it is that the water has been consumed and should be watered in time.

4. Toothpick observation

Newcomers who have just started farming will inevitably lack experience, and there is no need to worry at this time. You can insert a toothpick into the basin soil for two days, and then take out and observe the dry and wet condition of the toothpick. If there is obvious water on it, it means that there is still enough water in the soil. No watering. If there are no obvious marks on the toothpick and cannot be inserted too deep into the soil, it proves that the soil is very dry and can be watered.
