Pay attention to the time to change the basin, preferably above 15 degrees. Before changing, trim the roots and cut off the rotten and old roots. The choice of soil should also be paid attention to, and it is best to use rotten leaf soil, garden soil, river sand and so on. Pots can also be changed, such as using old pots to remember to disinfect. After potting, you should also pay attention to maintenance until the plant is fully adapted.

1. Time to change the basin

If you feel that the orchid is not growing well and has not blossomed for a long time, it is probably because there is something wrong with the soil and you need to change the basin. The temperature is very important when changing the basin, it is best to change it when the temperature is higher than 15 degrees. It is usually chosen in March or April.

2. Trim the root

Before changing the basin, pay attention to trimming the root. In this way, the gentleman orchid will adapt to the new environment more quickly and grow well after that. Cut off the old, intertwined roots, and the weak ones don't have to stay. Generally, 1/3 of the root system needs to be cut off. If there are rotten roots, soak in potassium permanganate for 20 minutes after pruning.

3. Preparation of soil

The choice of soil is very important, and it is best to prepare it yourself. It can mix rotten leaf soil, garden soil, river sand and so on. Can also add some sawdust, rotten bark and other things, so as to enhance the air permeability and drainage of the soil.

4. Whether to change the basin or not

Pots can be changed or not, depending on the size of the plant. If the basin is not big enough, change it for a bigger one. If you still use the old basin, you need to disinfect it before using it, such as carbendazim or exposure to the sun.

5. Pay attention to maintenance after that

After putting on the basin, water thoroughly first. After that, put the plant in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep the environment warm and moist until the plant is fully adapted to the new environment.
