In general, people who care for plants will encounter the problem of changing pots, sometimes from ground plants to pots, and sometimes with the growth of plants from small pots to large pots, in order to change some artistic flowerpots for beauty, all involve the problem of changing pots. Plant pots can not be changed at any time. Generally speaking, March and April is the best time for plants to change pots. Changing pots can make flowerpots commensurate with the size of plants, and can also improve plant growth conditions. But changing pots also requires some attention.

1. Under normal circumstances, potted flowers change their pots every year or every other year. The new shoots of flowers begin to sprout after the end of the dormant period, and it is best to change pots when the plants are moved out of the room and there is no shoot outside. However, according to the transplanting time and local climate differences of different plants, it is better to change the pots of northern flowers in March or April.

2. Choose the size of the replacement flowerpot. When changing the pot, you should choose the flowerpot according to the size of the plant. In general, the diameter of the flowerpot is a few centimeters larger than the root diameter of the plant. You can also choose the flowerpot according to the size of the crown of the plant. Many people like to grow small plants in large flowerpots, thinking that this can allow plants to grow freely and avoid the trouble of changing pots frequently, but this is unwise and is not conducive to the growth of flowers. at the same time, when managing plants, it is usually difficult to grasp the amount of watering and fertilizer, which affects the healthy growth of plants. Therefore, the size of the basin change should be grasped.

3. The basin change should be carried out step by step. Do not water the plants and flowers a few days before changing the basin, which can make the basin soil slightly dry and facilitate the separation of the basin soil from the basin wall. Before putting it into the new pot, some of the old roots of the plant can be trimmed around the root, and the overlong or injured roots should also be trimmed, and the leaves can be trimmed if necessary. If you have just watered it, you'd better not change the basin until the soil dries a little bit.

4. Careful maintenance. In general, plants need a period of adaptation after changing the basin, and need to be maintained in accordance with the method in order to survive. After changing the basin, pour the water thoroughly so that the basin soil absorbs enough water, but the watering times should not be too much, watering should be carried out according to the conditions of the basin soil. It is best to spray water on plant leaves once a day to ensure moist growth conditions. In addition, it should be noted that the plants that have just changed pots had better be maintained in a cool place, not in the sun to prevent damage to plants. The roots of plants cannot absorb nutrients immediately after changing pots, so it is best not to apply fertilizer immediately until the plants grow new leaves or sprouts.
