The striping culture of flowers is to bury a section of the branch of the mother plant in the soil, take root and cut off the mother plant, making it an independent new plant. It is generally divided into three kinds: ordinary strip pressing method, earth pressing method and high branch strip pressing method.

1. Ordinary striping method. It is mainly used for vine flowers with soft and slender branches, such as spring, honeysuckle, Lingxiao and so on. When pressing the strip, the outer part of the mother plant is curved, the protruding part of the lower bend is scratched, buried in the soil, and then fixed with a hook, after it takes root, it can be cut off from the mother plant, and then transplanted.

two。 The method of embossing earth. It is suitable for deciduous shrubs with strong clump and hard branches, such as Redwood, elm leaf plum, yellow thorn rose and so on. In early summer, the lower part of the branch was circally peeled about 25cm from the ground, and then the soil was cultivated around the mother plant, the lower part of the whole plant was buried in the soil, and the soil pile was kept moist. After it fully took root to sprout in the early spring of next year, the soil pile was planed, the branches were cut off from the base of the mother plant, and the branches were transplanted.

3. High branch crimping method. It is used for evergreen flowers and trees whose roots are difficult to bend, such as Magnolia, Milan, Michelia and so on. Generally carried out in the growing season, select fully developed 2-year-old branches, peel in their appropriate parts, and then use plastic bags to load peat soil, mountain mud, moss, etc., wrap the branches, pour water through, bind and fix the mouth of the bag, and then supply water in time to keep the culture soil moist. After the branches take root, cut off the mother body from the bottom of the bag, remove the bandage, take the soil and plant it in a basin, place it in a cool place for maintenance, and see Quan Guang after a large number of new shoots sprout.

For some flowers which are relatively soft and easy to peel off the skin, the high branch pressing method is adopted. in addition to ring peeling, twisting can also be used, that is, twisting the pressed part with both hands, so that the phloem of the high branch pressing part can be separated from the woody part, and some growth hormone can be applied to the wound to promote rooting.
