Cultivation and management techniques

Preparation of nutritious soil

The pond mud can be dug up years ago, or the loess on the surface can be excavated from the mountain, weathered outside in the shade, then mixed with about 1% rotten rapeseed cake powder or manure, and mixed with 10 imported ternary compound fertilizers per kilogram of basin soil to be used when changing the basin.

Selection of flowerpots

The height of cyclamen flowerpot is generally more than 2 / 3 of the plant height. Large flower varieties use 15~18cm caliber flowerpots with a height of 20cm and 30cm, while small and medium-sized flowers use 12~14cm caliber flowerpots with a height of about 16cm.

Upper basin and change basin

Generally, the seeds were sown from September to December, and after the seedling raising stage, they were planted in the pot from March to April in the following year when the seedlings grew to 6-8 true leaves. When planting, the corm must be exposed to the topsoil, fully watered, and then shaded for 2 days, so that it can be managed normally. After 2 weeks of potting, liquid fertilizer is applied twice a month, or some mature thin farm fertilizer and water can be used.

In particular, seedlings should increase the supply of potassium to enhance disease resistance. The basin can be changed once from May to June, and if you want to cultivate large plants, it should be carried out from August to September, and the model of the basin is larger than that of the original basin. The operation of changing the basin is basically the same as that of the upper basin.

Fertilizer and water management

Organic fertilizer is generally retted and mixed in nutritious soil as base fertilizer, and inorganic fertilizer is made into liquid fertilizer for topdressing.

Shaping

It is mainly to remove the withered and yellow leaves and the weak thin leaves in the early stage, pull the central leaves outward in the later stage, and remove the blooming flowers and diseased leaves in the flowering stage. When picking flowers, pinch the middle and lower part of the pedicel with your thumb and index finger, twist and rotate left and right, so that the base of the pedicel is softened and loosened from the plant.
