I. the causes and treatment methods of rotting roots of Cymbidium

1. Overwatering

Although the gentleman orchid has higher requirements for water, it does not need to be watered frequently in the process of breeding, because this will only affect the normal growth of plants, and there will be more and more stagnant water in the basin, resulting in rotten roots. If it is not treated in time, the whole plant will die.

Treatment method: if you want to restore the vitality of the orchid, you can see it placed in a ventilated position, and then air-dry the soil. Do not water the plants during this period of time. Wait until the water in the soil evaporates and dry before watering. Only in this way can the orchid be restored to its original state more quickly.

2. Improper fertilization

Magnolia also needs a lot of fertilizer supplement in the process of growing, but if you apply too much fertilizer, it is very easy to have rotten roots, and it will also lead to the destruction of plant root tissue, so flower friends must pay attention to it in the process of culture. avoid excessive fertilization.

Treatment method: if the phenomenon of rotten roots is not serious, it can be diluted by watering, but once the serious phenomenon of rotting roots occurs, it is best to take the plants out of the soil, then trim the rotten roots and re-cultivate them. Only in this way can the gentleman restore the original condition as soon as possible.

3. The soil is too poor.

If the air in the soil is insufficient, the oxygen concentration in the soil will also be very low, resulting in rotten roots, so it can be seen that if the quality of the soil is too poor, it is not suitable for raising magnolia at all, and it will also affect the normal growth of plants.

Treatment: the nutritious soil bought from the market has poor air permeability and the soil is overcooked or overripe. If the soil contains immature ingredients, long-term watering and fertilization in the basin soil will produce heat, and it is easy to rot the roots, so the choice of flower soil before planting is very important. If the flowerpot of the gentleman orchid is poor in air permeability, you can consider replacing it with a porcelain pot or a rough pottery pot.

4. Root damage

When the root is injured, when changing the basin or dividing the basin, the rotten fleshy root must be completely eliminated, then coated with charcoal or fine furnace ash to dry, and then cultivated in the basin to prevent the injured root from coming into direct contact with nutritious soil bacteria.

Treatment method: first of all, the damaged roots should be trimmed off, then soaked in 1/1000 potassium permanganate solution for 30 minutes, the rotten roots can be disinfected, water control and drying for 1 day can be re-cultivated, and then properly watered and fertilized, plants can be restored to life.
