Pleurotus ostreatus is a kind of precious mushroom species in China, which is distributed in all parts of our country. Because of the large market demand, there are still many people growing Bailing mushrooms. However, when we grow Pleurotus ostreatus, we need to pay attention to the environmental requirements for the growth of Pleurotus ostreatus. So what exactly? The following editor brings you the environmental requirements for the growth of Pleurotus ostreatus. Let's have a look!

1. Temperature requirement

Pleurotus ostreatus is a kind of mushroom with low temperature, and the suitable temperature for mycelium growth is about 5-30 degrees. However, the optimum growth temperature should be about 23 degrees. If it is less than 5 degrees, its growth rate will decrease significantly. But above 35 degrees, the hyphae will stop growing. If the mycelium is ripe after ripening, it will take about 30-45 days to mature physiologically. The temperature should be controlled in the range of-3-15 degrees, preferably in the range of 7-12, in order to ensure the normal differentiation of fruiting bodies. Then in the mushroom stage, the optimum temperature is about 13-18 degrees.

2. Moisture requirements

The requirement of moisture in the growth of Pleurotus ostreatus is also very high. The ratio of water to material should be controlled at about 1:1, and the moisture of the culture material should at least be kept at 65%. During the growth of Pleurotus ostreatus, the air humidity should be controlled at about 85%. Keep in mind that the humidity should not be too high, otherwise there will be yellow mushroom phenomenon, affecting sales. If the temperature is 6-7 degrees, then the humidity should not be too low, otherwise there will be cap cracking. In the end, the water content of Pleurotus ostreatus is actually relatively small, and it can be preserved for about two weeks at 15 degrees after harvest.

3. Lighting requirements

The demand for light for the growth of Pleurotus ostreatus is not very great. In general, dark culture can grow normally during the bacteria-generating stage. However, at the stage of mushroom growth and development, a certain amount of scattered light is needed. Especially when the fruiting body grows, if it is completely in a dark environment, then the differentiation of the fruiting body will be seriously affected. Therefore, we mainly maintain about 13 hours of scattered light every day, but because of different varieties, the demand for light is also different. If the light is too weak, it will lead to deformity of the mushroom body, too small cover and so on.

4. Oxygen requirements

Oxygen is also a major environmental requirement for the growth of Pleurotus ostreatus. Pleurotus ostreatus is a kind of aerobic fungus, both mycelium and fruiting body need plenty of fresh air. Therefore, in the cultivation of Pleurotus ostreatus, ventilation is very important. If the indoor carbon dioxide concentration exceeds 0.4%, it will affect the formation of the primordium of Pleurotus ostreatus, resulting in deformed mushrooms. Therefore, no matter which growth stage Pleurotus ostreatus is in, we should pay attention to ventilation and keep it mild at the same time, and its temperature should be in harmony with the wind speed.

The above is a brief introduction to the environmental requirements for the growth of Pleurotus ostreatus. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. I hope it can help you all.
