Sweet-scented osmanthus trees not only have high ornamental value, but also can be used to make tea and pharmaceuticals, so there are still many people planting sweet-scented osmanthus trees. When planting sweet-scented osmanthus trees, reproduction is very important. The propagation of sweet-scented osmanthus is generally based on cutting, so when and how to cut sweet-scented osmanthus? The following editor brings you the cutting time and methods of sweet-scented osmanthus, let's have a look!

1. Cutting time

When cutting sweet-scented osmanthus, the first thing we need to determine is the cutting time of sweet-scented osmanthus. The suitable cutting time of sweet-scented osmanthus can be divided into two periods: May-July and September-October. Because in these two periods, the nutrients in the branches of sweet-scented osmanthus are more, and the humidity in the greenhouse is very beneficial to the rooting and survival of the scion. Before cutting, we must first prepare the cutting bed, the soil in the seedling bed will be finely broken and then level the bed surface to ensure that the ditch system is smooth. Then set up an arch shed about the height of 50cm on the cutting bed, and build a sunshade with a light transmittance of about 30% above.

2. Cuttings treatment

After determining the cutting time and preparing the cutting bed. We need to select cuttings, sweet-scented osmanthus cuttings in the robust growth, disease-free sweet-scented osmanthus trees to choose. In the middle and upper part of sweet-scented osmanthus tree, the shoots which are not completely lignified are selected as cuttings. Cut the cuttings into small pieces of about 9 centimeters. The upper leaves of the cuttings should be cut off respectively, and then the top should be cut into a flat mouth, and the cutting part should be cut into an oblique mouth. Then trap it together, and then put all the position of the cuttage mouth 3 cm into naphthalene acetic acid for about an hour, and then you can cut it after soaking.

3. Cutting method

After dealing with the cuttings, we can start cutting. When cutting, we should first classify the cuttings according to the thickness of the cuttings and cut them in separate beds. The row spacing between cuttings should be kept at about 5*10cm. In order to avoid injury during cuttage and affect rooting, before cutting, we should first cut small holes in the cutting bed with sticks about the same thickness as the cuttings, and then cut them. Cuttage depth should be kept at about 2 prime 3 of cuttings, after insertion, press the surrounding soil, and then spray appropriate amount of carbendazim and other medicine solution.

4. Post-cutting management

After cutting, if there are no water droplets on the greenhouse film and the soil is too dry, it should be watered in time. For the awning, we should cover it early and uncover it late, and keep the humidity in the awning at about 85%. The temperature should be controlled within 20-25 degrees, and then carbendazim should be sprayed once a week. Do a good job of loosening the soil, improve the permeability of the soil, and avoid rotting roots caused by anaerobic respiration due to lack of oxygen. The sprouts at the base of cuttings should be erased in time to prevent excessive nutrition consumption. Then every ten days or so should be combined with watering work, spraying an appropriate amount of urea, etc., to ensure the normal growth of roots and shoots. The awning can be removed in the spring of the following year, and can be planted when the seedlings grow to 40cm.

The above is a brief introduction of the cutting time and methods of sweet-scented osmanthus. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. I hope it can help you all.
