It is best to use Rain Water, snow water or natural soft water to cultivate orchids. Water can be divided into hard water and soft water. Hard water contains more alkali. Using it to water orchids will cause brown spots on the leaves and affect the ornamental effect, so it is appropriate to water orchids with soft water. Rain Water or snow water is the most ideal in soft water, because Rain Water is a kind of near neutral water, which does not contain minerals and has more air, so it is very suitable to water orchids.

So it's best for you to use snow water, but you can't put the snow directly on the orchid basin, the temperature is too low, you have to melt the snow indoors and wait for it to water the orchids when the room temperature is close to room temperature.

Many orchid friends come to ask me how often orchids are watered. This problem, especially for beginners, is really difficult to grasp. As the old saying goes: raise orchids a little and water them for three years. What kind of plant material you use to raise orchids, what season, what weather, what environment, what varieties of orchids, the watering intervals are all different.

As for how long to water, it is best to water according to the degree of dryness and wetness of the plant. Sometimes it is difficult to judge because the plant on the surface may be dry, but the inside is still wet.

With the help of convenient chopsticks, plastic pipes and other tools, they can be inserted into the plant material. However, the depth varies. Wooden chopsticks can be inserted into plants 10 to 12 centimeters, while plastic pipes need to be embedded with 8-10cm. After five minutes, take them out to see if they are damp to determine whether or not to water them. You can also look at the surface soil.

After the general surface of the soil is white, it is best to wait 1-3 days before pouring. According to personal experience, water is usually watered once a day at the highest temperature in summer; but in cloudy and rainy days, watering times should be reduced, and you can wait until after rainy days; in dry, overheated weather, keep smooth ventilation and water once a day, and in the evening.

In spring and autumn, orchids are usually watered every three to seven days, orchids go dormant in winter, watering every ten to fifteen days, and cold weather is carried out in warmer conditions at noon. Remember to water it slowly and thoroughly, not on the blue heart.
