How to improve the survival rate of young rabbits
The mortality rate of rabbits in the young rabbit stage is basically the highest. The good ones die less and the poor ones die more. In many cases, we may not know the cause of death. So what do you do if you want to ensure that your baby rabbits have a high survival rate? Let's learn how to improve the survival rate of young rabbits.
1. Adjust the environment
The first thing to do is to adjust the environment of the rabbit house, which is a long stage and lasts about a month. At this stage, we can no longer all follow the living habits of the female rabbit, the main environmental regulation includes light and temperature, at this time, the demand for light of the female rabbit is not high, and the young rabbit does not need much light, so the lighting time of the rabbit house should be appropriately reduced. About 7-8 hours a day, and then slowly increase. Then there is temperature control, female rabbits and young rabbits like high temperature, so the temperature at this stage is generally controlled around 30 ℃. Other environmental factors are also slowly adjusted to see how young rabbits can be maintained as active as possible.
2. Transform the rabbit house
After the environment is adjusted, it is necessary to make appropriate changes to the rabbit house, the young rabbit has less fluff, and the female rabbit produces a lot of young rabbits, so the nest of the female rabbit will be expanded first to prevent the young rabbits from directly touching the ground to feed. After the nest is enlarged, it is also necessary to add fodder to the places where the baby rabbits are active frequently, because the young rabbits will slowly move around the rabbit house, and it is best not to put anything in the rabbit cage. There is an open space for the young rabbits to move. This can prevent the baby rabbits from falling when they slip into these items.
3. Pay attention to feeding
The death of young rabbits caused by feeding is also a common problem, at this stage, young rabbits are very particular about what to eat, especially in terms of nutritional balance, the performance of young rabbits is not obvious when they eat badly, and it is only obvious when something goes wrong. But when feeding, we should pay attention to the problem of quantity, some young rabbits will have the phenomenon of overeating when eating, and then cause death. In addition to feeding young rabbits, it is best to feed milk paste, so that it is easier to mix nutrients, and young rabbits are not easy to eat and fill.
4. Be careful of weaning
Weaning is the most easily overlooked stage, and newly weaned rabbits are more likely to die as a result of dietary changes. Weaning can not be directly weaned at one time, it should be decreased slowly, so that the young rabbits can adapt slowly. Do not rush to adjust the food after weaning. In addition to increasing the quantity, slowly modify the feed after the last week. If the various reactions of young rabbits are more intense during weaning, it means that the time is too fast and it is best to slow down properly.
After doing all this, it is believed that the survival of young rabbits will increase to a certain extent. The death of young rabbits is sometimes impossible to avoid, we should mainly ensure that most of the young rabbits are normal, do not worry too much about the death of a young rabbit.
