Peach tree is actually a kind of tree species with high self-flowering seed setting rate, but in its growth, if it encounters bad weather, such as low temperature and heavy rain, it is very disadvantageous to peach tree fruiting. Therefore, many people will choose artificial pollination, which can effectively improve the fruit setting rate of peach trees. So how should peach trees be artificially pollinated? Today, the editor has brought you the method of artificial pollination of peach trees. Let's take a look at it.

1. Pollen collection

Before artificial pollination, we should first take good pollen. About two days before the first flower of the peach tree, collect the flowers that need to be pollinated, then rub the flowers with your hands and sift them to get the anther. The anther can also be obtained by kneading the flowers directly in the iron sieve. After obtaining the anther, the anther should be dried. When drying anthers, we should pay attention to maintain a good temperature, the temperature should not be too high, otherwise it will lead to a decrease in germination rate and less pollination. If it is too low, it will prolong the drying time, and the suitable temperature should be stable at about 22 degrees. Then the drying time is generally about one and a half days, and finally, do not expose the pollen in strong light, otherwise it will cause the germination rate of pollen to be less than 20%.

2. Pollen storage

After the pollen has been treated, if it is not all used up in the current year, if there is any surplus, then the pollen should be stored so that it can be used in winter or the following year. It can be refrigerated, usually sealed in a bottle, or in a plastic bag. Just make sure the seal is airtight, and then put it in an environment below zero. When taking it out and using it, we should do a good job in the experiment to ensure that it can germinate normally. If it is properly stored, the pollen will still have 70% or more vitality after a year.

3. Pollination method

There are many methods of pollination, the first one is to make pollen into pollen liquid when peach trees are in full bloom, and then spray it with a sprayer. The preparation of pollen liquid is mainly water, urea, borax, water and so on. It can also be sprayed with appropriate amount of anti-falling hormone during flowering, and then sprayed with tea acetic acid after flowering, which can effectively improve the rate of fruit setting. In addition, you can also add an appropriate amount of talcum powder or milk powder to the pollen, and then dip the flowers. You can also put it in a gauze bag and shake it on a tree to sprinkle pollen. In the full flowering period, repeated about three times, can effectively improve its fruit setting rate.

4. Bee pollination

Honeybee pollination is also a commonly used method of artificial pollination. When the number of pollination reaches 1 stroke 5, the orchard which is evenly distributed can significantly increase the fruit setting rate if some bees are released during its flowering period. About 4 days before the peach tree blossoms, remove the prepared cocoons and put them in the honeycomb camp to promote the adult bees to emerge from the hive. It can also directly put the surviving bee colony in the orchard and pollinate by using the characteristics of honey collection of bees, which can effectively improve the success rate of pollination.

The above is a brief introduction to the artificial pollination of peach trees. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. I hope it can help you all.
