How to let Magnolia reproduce seedlings
Magnolia usually propagates seedlings by means of ramet or seeds. After two years of growth, several small orchids will grow near the roots, and when the leaves grow to about 15 centimeters, they can split, cut off their roots and propagate into seedlings. The sowing method is more commonly used, that is, the seeds are soaked in warm water for half an hour, then taken out to dry, and then sowed into the culture soil.
I. sowing method
When this method is used, it is generally used for mass reproduction. To promote germination in the early stage, soak the seeds in water with a temperature of about 35 degrees for 20-30 minutes and then take them out to dry, usually for two hours. It is better to use sodium phosphate solution under certain conditions.
If you choose the culture soil with soft air permeability and good drainage effect, you can dig the humus soil near the trees and stir it with 1/3 fine sand. Sow the treated seeds evenly in the culture soil, do not feed water first, and keep them in an environment of about 24 degrees. Generally, seedlings will grow in two weeks.
2. Split-plant method
This method is generally used in family maintenance, the quantity is not very large, and the operation is simple. Seedlings will grow near the roots of Cymbidium, which has been growing for two years, and it is time to split. Remove the plant from the basin, remove the soil, find the dividing point between the seedling and the mother plant, hold the false bulb with one hand, grasp the root of the small plant with one hand, and tear it open. If you can't break it, don't force it. Just cut it off with a sterilized knife. Don't break the plant hard. After breaking off, smear the wound with dried charcoal powder to prevent decay. The separated young plants are planted in the soil, and the depth is based on the fact that the soil can not exceed the false bulb.
