Cherry is a very common fruit in our life, which is welcomed by many people. When planting cherries, the breeding work is very important. Now the breeding method of cherry is generally based on grafting, after the grafting of cherry trees, its management is very important. So how to manage it after cherry grafting? The following editor brings you the management technology after cherry grafting, let's have a look!

1. Cut the anvil to get rid of sprouting

After the cherry tree is grafted and survived, or before it sprouts in spring, we should cut the rootstock about one centimeter on the cherry bud. Especially if there are buds germinating on the rootstock, then the sprouts should be erased in time to ensure the normal germination and growth of the buds. Then we have to remove the cute at least three times in a row. When the new shoot grows above 20cm, insert a stick or bamboo around the seedling as a plant. Then tie the new shoots to the plant with thin film or string to prevent them from being broken by the wind.

2. Fertilizer and water management

After grafting, we enhance the growth ability of cherry grafted seedlings, and we should also pay attention to strengthening fertilizer and water management. Watering and fertilization should be done according to the water content of the soil and the growth of grafted seedlings. In the early stage of growth, the fertilizer should be mainly nitrogen fertilizer, and then in the later stage of growth, the fertilizer should be converted into phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. After each topdressing, we should properly water it, and then do a good job of ploughing and weeding. In order to improve the cold resistance of grafted seedlings, we should control water and fertilizer well before winter, so as to avoid too much water and fertilizer leading to the growth of grafted cherry seedlings and poor organization.

3. Bind and remove the heart

The growth of grafted buds is fragile, especially after germination, because it is not yet fully mature. Therefore, if you encounter a slightly stronger wind, then the wedding joint is very easy to bend or even break. Therefore, after grafting, we must pay attention to doing a good job of binding, which is also introduced in the previous section. Then pick the heart when the grafted cherry seedlings grow to about 75 centimeters high. Directly take off the tip of about 20 cm, under normal circumstances, can be cultivated into a small young tree with about 5 branches, to pay attention to, the heart-picking period should not be less than the end of June at the latest.

4. Disease and pest control

During the growth period of cherry grafted seedlings, we should also pay attention to the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests. Among them, the common ones are small gray weevil, which can be killed manually after the grafted seedlings germinate. Or use crystal trichlorfon to trap and kill. Mainly based on prevention, fenitrothion emulsion or deltamethrin EC was selected to control small heart borer from June to July every year. Finally, the pests such as leaf roll moth and diamondback moth can be controlled by spraying diflubenzuron and dichlorvos.

The above is a brief introduction to the management technology after cherry grafting. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. I hope it can help you all.
