Rainy Ilan has always been famous for its rice. Is it appropriate to grow peanuts? The answer is yes! More than 20 young farmers engaged in friendly farming in Ilan County joined the Lanyangxi friendly farming production Co-operative to carry out a 14-An agricultural land miscellaneous grain reclamation program in the Greater Nanao area, that is, Tainan selected No. 9 peanut as the main crop.

"any crop in Ilan has its own flavor." Wu Shaowen, chairman of Yiliang, who is the convener of the reclamation project, said that the climate and environment of Ilan are different from those of the west, and it takes longer for crops to grow, but they all have special flavors and can present the local customs of Ilan. Peanuts are also selected because of the strong flavor of Yilan peanuts, which are highly competitive in the market for fried peanut butter and peanut oil.

Wu Shaowen says that eating cereal grains is a dietary feature of Ilan. In the past, a small amount of peanuts were grown in Zhuangwei and Wujie Township of Ilan, and peanut pulp was a daily routine, so he called on young farmers who already had the basis of rice farming to participate in the event. Nanao was chosen because of its good soil drainage and pleasant climate, and the cultivation of miscellaneous grains can be up to two times a year.

At present, the young farmers and farmers' groups called for are South Australia Akong Natural Field, Tian MrL, monthly Learning Garden, Anjian Agricultural products, Dabai in Xiaomian, Tianwen Society, Bobo Rice, and Longyu Agricultural Bank. They have jointly reclaimed about 14 hectares of farmland, of which 8 hectares are peanuts and the rest are black beans and soybeans.

Wu Shaowen says that the advantage of young farmers working together for reclamation is that they can produce large areas of land, share machinery, planting materials, and other resources to reduce costs, while follow-up processing cooperates with the Department of Food Science of Ilan University and local processors such as Meifu Bank. At the same time, it also develops new sales items for participating young farmers.

Gong Zhijing, one of the young farmers involved and chairman of the Lanyangxi friendly farming production Cooperative, said that a complete friendly farming system for rice has been established, and farmers in DiYoushan are often assisted in alternative farming, but there is no alternative farming model for miscellaneous crops, so one of the major challenges of this reclamation is to establish a farming model for miscellaneous crops.
