Because I like strawberries very much, I buy them several times every spring. Now many people are going to grow strawberries by themselves. Do you know how to grow strawberries? Let's have a look!

Directly select a larger and more ruddy strawberry, thin cut off a layer, with the surface of the seed and a little flesh, very fresh, without special treatment and drying, throw into the flowerpot to sow. If you are worried about the pulp corruption affecting the seeds, it is recommended that you take some effort to remove the pulp.

Strawberry seed germination is light (note), I did not cover the soil, the germination rate is quite high.

Note: the seeds of some plants need light before they can germinate, which are called "photosensitive seeds". Generally speaking, the smaller seeds, because the nutrients stored in the seeds are not enough to supply the nutrients needed by the germ to break the soil, they can only germinate on the surface and belong to good light, so there is no need to cover the soil when sowing and planting such plants.

If you are worried that the strawberry seeds are too small to be blown away by the wind, you can cover them with a little soil.

Sowing will take three days to a week as soon as possible, and slow will sprout in a month or two. I sow seeds about every March to April, and the first time I sow seems to take a month or two to sprout. At one point, I thought I had failed, but then I was very happy when I sprouted. After that, it became more and more smooth, and the third sowing sprouted almost a week later. It usually blossoms in 4-6 weeks after germination, and there will be a harvest in 4-6 weeks.

Strawberries need at least six hours of sunshine a day, preferably in the morning in hot and dry areas, and in cold and temperate zones, the more sunshine the better. If the soil drainage is good, it is best to mix and add organic soil in advance, such as compost soil compost, moss soil peat moss and dung soil manure and so on. At the same time, mix with the original soil, and then plant.

Strawberries like slightly sour soil, about 5.5-7 pH. If you live in an area where the soil is alkaline, you can improve the soil in the way described in the soil acidity Soil pH. Generally neutral soil does not need to worry too much.

In order to prevent mildew and pests, it is best not to plant the same kind of plants every year in the same place. The same goes for strawberries. Although strawberries grow stolons, it is best to plant new seeds or seeds every year to ensure high quality and yield.
