Adult orchids blossom and clip arrows is a problem often encountered by orchids. There are many reasons for the entrapment of arrows, and different measures should be taken to improve them.

1. The temperature is not suitable. The suitable temperature for orchid flowering is 15: 25 ℃, and the temperature difference between day and night is about 10 ℃. After the formation of orchid arrow, the room temperature is about 18 ℃, and the temperature difference between day and night is 6: 10 ℃, otherwise the arrow will blossom if it does not grow to a proper height, and there will be arrow entrapment phenomenon. In particular, the temperature of the gentleman orchid indoors is similar during the day and night, and the temperature difference is only 2: 3 ℃, which is not conducive to archery.

Solution: put it on the windowsill during the day and 6: 10 ℃ below the windowsill temperature at night (the indoor temperature should not be lower than 15 ℃ in the early morning). In this way, the arrows can be drawn out in an environment with a large temperature difference. The temperature is lower at night and higher during the day.

two。 Improper fertilization. Excessive chemical fertilizer or unequal improper fertilization will make the root system in a state of hypoxia, resulting in root injury or root rot, hinder nutrition dredging and promote sword clamping.

Solution: after entering the room, you can first apply a small amount of solid fertilizer, such as fermented bean cake, rotten sesame oil dregs, fried bone meal and dried blood powder. After every 20 days or so can be combined with watering, plus a fermented bean cake water. The application rate of nitrogen fertilizer should be strictly controlled to prevent the excessive growth of leaves and affect flowering. The plants that are about to bloom can apply some phosphorus and potassium fertilizer to promote flower bud differentiation, archery quickly and blossom early.

Once the phenomenon of arrow entrapment occurs, pour the soil and wash the roots to dry them, wash the roots with clean water and dry them in a cool place for 4 to 5 hours, replace them with loose new nutritious soil, and the arrows can pop out a few days later.

3. The watering is not standard. Magnolia is a fleshy root, afraid of water stains, too much watering or half of the water, basin soil is too dry, easy to cause the root of the orchid suffocation, rot, withered, poor nutrition supply, easy to trap arrows. This is the most common mistake made by orchid farmers.

Solution: avoid excessive watering to produce waterlogging or half of the water to affect root absorption. The basin soil should be slightly dry, and it can be watered every 20 days or so. Especially in winter, because the temperature is relatively low and the water evaporates slowly, the amount of watering should be controlled. The watering temperature should not be too low and should be equal to room temperature. In order to increase the air humidity, water can be sprayed to the ground around the basin. Watering and washing leaves should also prevent stagnant water in the leaf axils, otherwise it will also have a rotten heart and arrows. Once the arrow is caught, the new soil should be replaced and watered immediately, and the new root should be cultivated. After the new root grows, the arrow will be drawn out.

The specific method to restore the new root: first knock out the rotten root magnolia from the basin, remove the soil, cut off the root, wash the root with clean water, then smear the rotten root with potassium permanganate aqueous solution, and then wrap all the leaves with white paper, expose the root, the root to the sun, bask in the sun for 0.5 hours, use ultraviolet light to kill bacteria. After the above treatment, if only a few roots of the diseased plant rot, it can be directly planted in the sterilized nutritious soil, less watering in the first 15 days and growth can be restored in 1.5 months. If more than half of the roots of the diseased plants are rotten or all rotten, they should be planted in a basin filled with fine sand, placed in a cool place, keep moist and slow roots, and sprout new roots. The new roots can be seen in about 15 days in the environment of 22-25 ℃, and can be transplanted into nutritious soil in about two months. After changing the nutrient soil, the normal management can be carried out.

The nutrient soil of Junzi orchid is mainly prepared with rotten leaves (oak leaves), pine needles and coarse sand, the proportion is: rotten leaves 30%, pine needles 30%, coarse sand 20%, pockmarked seeds (dry fried) 10%, charcoal 5%, defatted bone powder 5%. This kind of nutritious soil has good permeability and rich nutrition, which is suitable for the growth of Cymbidium, and it is not easy to rot the roots. after the new root grows, it can supply a lot of nutrients to the arrow system, making it quickly push out the arrow.
