Navel orange is a kind of sweet orange variety of Rutaceae, and its planting area is very large in our country. There is a very large planting area in China, the economic life of navel orange is very long, the nutritional value of fruit is high, and its economic value is relatively high. However, when we grow navel oranges, we need to take into account the growing environment of navel oranges. So what kind of environment is needed to grow navel oranges? Today, the editor has brought you the planting environment of navel oranges. Let's take a look at it.

1. Moisture requirements

When planting navel oranges, the first thing to consider is the moisture requirement. The navel orange fruit itself contains a lot of water, so when we plant navel oranges, the minimum thickness of the soil layer should not be less than 80 centimeters, and it is best to keep it above 1 meter. At the same time, the annual rainfall in the planting area should be kept above 1000mm. When planting, it is not suitable to plant in the farmland, because the groundwater level of the farmland is very high. Stagnant water is easy to occur when it is rainy in summer, which is very disadvantageous to the growth of navel orange. If it has to be planted in farmland, it should be planted in deep trenches and high beds, but it is best to be planted on hilly slopes.

2. Soil requirements

The growth ability of navel orange is very strong, the requirements of the soil is not very strict, whether red soil or alluvial soil can adapt normally, can live in most of the soil. However, the difference of soil will have a certain impact on the yield and quality of navel orange fruit. Therefore, when we plant navel oranges, we should give priority to the soil with deep soil layer, sufficient fertility, strong permeability and soft soil. The pH value of soil should be kept at about 6-6.5, so sandy loam is the best soil. Navel oranges can also be planted if the red loam is properly improved.

3. Climatic requirements

The growth of navel orange still has certain requirements on temperature, navel orange is suitable for growing in the environment with an average annual temperature of about 20 degrees. During its growth period, if the temperature is greater than or equal to 10 degrees, then the annual accumulated temperature should be maintained at about 4600-4700 degrees. The lowest temperature in winter should not be less than five degrees below zero, and the average temperature should be kept above 8 degrees in January. Then, for the air humidity, it should be kept at about 70% and 75%. Maintaining a large temperature difference between day and night and a long frost-free period is very beneficial to the growth of navel orange.

4. Garden conditions

The garden where navel oranges are planted should be set up on a gentle slope of about 25 degrees. Ensure adequate light, deep soil layer and normal drainage and irrigation, reduce investment as far as possible and ensure convenient management. If it is planted in flat land or paddy fields, then it should be planted in deep trenches and high borders to improve drainage capacity. Planting on flat land is convenient to manage and has plenty of water, which is very beneficial to the root development of navel orange trees. However, its ventilation and light are not as good as mountain planting. In the construction of the park, we should pay attention to the groundwater level to avoid stagnant water, in addition, transportation also needs to be taken into account.

The above is a brief introduction to the planting environment of navel orange. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. I hope it can help you all.
