Grafting method of Pepper
Chili is a very popular vegetable in China, and proper consumption of chili is of great help to human health. At present, most of the seedling methods of pepper are based on grafting, grafting can effectively improve the yield and variety of pepper, so as to improve the planting efficiency. But there are also many people who don't know how to graft chili peppers. So the editor brings you the grafting technology of chili peppers today. Let's take a look at it together.
1. Splitting method
The split grafting method is divided into full split grafting and half split grafting, which is to cut all the stem sections of the rootstock seedlings. This method is suitable for situations where the thickness of the scion is similar to that of the rootstock seedlings. On the other hand, the semi-split grafting is to cut the stem section of the rootstock seedling into the general left and right side of the transverse stem, which is more suitable for the thinner scion. The scion of split grafting method is far away from the ground, the probability of being invaded by pathogens in soil is small, the ability of disease prevention is strong, and the survival rate of grafting is high. In the split grafting method, the pepper scion should have about 3 true leaves, free from diseases and insect pests, and the rootstock should have about 4 true leaves, and the height should be kept above 10cm. However, the procedure of splicing method is troublesome and inefficient, so it is suitable for small-scale operation.
2. Plug-in method
The method of insertion is to insert a small hole about the size of the scion with a bamboo stick at the top or top of the rootstock. Then cut the bottom of the pepper scion, and then insert it directly into the small hole in the rootstock seedling. The insertion method can increase the contact area between the rootstock and the scion, promote the nutrient exchange between the rootstock and the scion, thus improve the survival rate of the scion. And there are not many working procedures of the insertion method, and the implementation efficiency is relatively high. However, for the need for a smaller cuttings, mostly in the seedling stage. The number of true leaves of scion should be kept at about 2, while that of rootstock should be about 3, with a height of 6 cm.
3. Casing grafting
Casing grafting is a kind of grafting method which is becoming more and more popular these years. It is an optimized grafting method based on the bonding method. In the past, it was mainly fixed by grafting clip, while casing grafting was mainly fixed by a plastic casing with a length of about 1.5 cm. The plastic casing has an inward elastic tension to ensure that the rootstock is in close contact with the scion. And the elasticity of the casing is larger, with the growth of the grafted seedlings, the grafting site will continue to expand. The plastic casing can increase the opening with its expansion, and finally fall off automatically, and its management efficiency can be greatly improved.
The above is a brief introduction to the grafting method of hot pepper. There are many grafting methods of hot pepper, we should choose the suitable grafting method reasonably according to the variety of pepper and its own planting scale, so as to ensure the survival rate of grafting and improve the economic benefit. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. I hope it can help you all.
