1) Bring flowers forward. Gibberellin is used to accelerate the vegetative growth or reproductive growth of flowers, so that the growth speed of flowers can be accelerated and the flowering period can be brought forward. For example, Camellia stops growing in early summer and undergoes flower bud differentiation, but the speed is very slow. If a certain concentration of gibberellin (500~1000 mg/L) is applied to the flower bud twice a week, it can flower ahead of time.

Second, break sleep. Growth regulators such as indoleacetic acid, naphthylacetic acid and gibberellin can break dormancy of flower buds and storage organs. For example, the bulbs of Musk Lily can germinate after 66 days after storage at 21℃ for 6 weeks. If treated with gibberellin at a concentration of 2500 mg/L, the seeds could germinate in 37 days under the same conditions.

Third, promote flower bud differentiation. Growth regulators such as indoleacetic acid, naphthylacetic acid and gibberellin can induce flower bud differentiation and promote flowering. If tulip grows to 5~10 cm, drop 200 mg/L gibberellin and 5 mg/L 6-benzyl adenine to the center of tubular leaf cluster, which can make it bloom ahead of time.

4. Delay the flowering of flowers. Growth inhibitors such as triiodobenzoic acid and chlormequat can inhibit or delay flower flowering. A certain concentration of auxin can also delay flowering, such as NAA 100~500 mg/L and 2,4-D 5 mg/L can obviously delay flowering.

5) Prolonging the life of flowers. Gibberellin, cytokinin, auxin, etc. on chrysanthemum, poinsettia, snapdragon, etc. have the effect of prolonging flowering and preventing shedding. If poinsettia was treated with 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid at 6 mg/l concentration, the flowering and leaf viewing periods could be prolonged.
