Lettuce is a very common vegetable in our daily life, and the planting area in our country is very large. Its market demand is also relatively large, when planting lettuce, seedling work is very important. Reasonable seedling raising is the key measure to ensure the healthy growth of lettuce, so we must pay more attention to it. So how to grow lettuce? The following editor brings you the seedling technology of lettuce, let's have a look!

1. Nursery bed selection

When raising lettuce seedlings, we should first choose a good nursery bed. The growth of lettuce is very demanding on the nursery bed, which should be cool, transparent, vegetables that have not been planted with green leaves before, and sandy soil free of diseases and insect pests. When raising seedlings, we should carry out ploughing and drying about seven days in advance to increase the application rate of organic fertilizer and increase the fertility of the seedling bed. However, we should pay attention to control the amount of organic fertilizer, not too much, to prevent fertilizer damage. After applying the base fertilizer, the fertilizer should be fully mixed with the soil to ensure soil fertility.

Then make the nursery bed with a width of about 1 meter and a height of about 20 centimeters. Pay attention to digging the drainage ditch around the seedbed, and the width of the drainage ditch should be kept at about 28 centimeters. After the seedling bed is leveled and fine raked, the bed is paved with a layer of about three centimeters of rotten nutrient soil. Then it is necessary to do a good job of sterilization and disinfestation, and properly spray the seedbed. Agents such as trichlorfon and methyl thiophanate can be used to ensure the disinfection effect and promote the healthy growth of lettuce.

2. Seed treatment

Then we should also pay attention to the treatment of lettuce seeds, and we should first soak the seeds at low temperature to accelerate germination before sowing. The main purpose is to break the dormancy period of the seed, the seed should first be soaked in cold water for about 5 hours. Then wrap it in wet gauze and treat it at a temperature of about 5 degrees for a day or so. Then take it out and put it at a temperature of 20 degrees to see the sprouting. In the process of accelerating germination, cold water should be poured on the seeds about twice a day, and about 3 days later, more than 80% of the seeds can be sown after they are exposed and germinated.

3. Sowing seeds at the right time

When cultivating autumn lettuce, the growth period is about three months, and the sowing time should be from July to August. When sowing, pay attention to pouring enough bottom water, and then spread the treated seeds evenly on the cooling seedbed. The seeds should be evenly mixed with fine sand and mainly sparsely sown. After sowing, we should also pay attention to cover about 0.5 cm of nutritious soil, and at the same time pay attention to shading and shading. When lettuce seedlings grow about two true leaves, interseedling work can be carried out, the seedling distance is maintained at about 5 cm, and planting can begin when about 4-5 leaves are grown.

The above is a brief introduction to the technology of raising lettuce seedlings. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. I hope it can help you all.
