Fructus schisandra is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine, which is often used in traditional Chinese medicine. It has the effect of strengthening the body. Now there are artificial cultivation in many areas, and the economic benefit is good. Schizandra can be seed and cuttage propagation, but the survival rate of cuttage is low, so most of them use seed propagation, the following will take a look at the seedling management of Schizandra with Xiaobian.

1. Seed collection

The seeds of schisandra chinensis had better be harvested in autumn. The fruit clusters with large and uniform fruit grains were selected as seeds. The harvested fruit clusters were put into containers and kneaded by hands to completely separate the seeds from the pulp. After washing, put the washed seeds into clean water for washing, remove the pulp and shriveled particles, wash them with clean water, then take them out and put them on mats to dry or dry in the shade. Be careful not to expose them to strong light. When the seed moisture content is about 15%, store it in a ventilated and dry place.

2. Seed treatment

The seeds of schisandra chinensis have the characteristics of post-embryonic dormancy, belonging to deep dormancy type. The embryo of the seed has not fully developed at harvest, so it needs to be developed in the field of low temperature and humidity. Therefore, the seed can germinate after 3-4 months of embryo development. Sand storage is generally to mix seeds and wet sand 2~3 times the size of seeds, put them into pits of appropriate size, cover them with fine sand of 10~15 cm, and then cover them with straw or grass curtains for low temperature treatment.

3. Sowing method

Fructus schisandra can be sown in spring or autumn. Spring sowing mainly uses germinated seeds, while autumn sowing can be directly sown with fresh threshed seeds. In order to facilitate management, it is advisable to adopt drilling as well. First, open 2 cm deep furrows on the ridge surface, with an interval of 10 cm between each furrows. After that, sow the seeds into the furrows according to 5 cm plant spacing, and sow about 5 kg per mu. Of course, it can also be broadcast, generally 20-25 kg per mu, 2-3 cm of soil after sowing, watering after shoot suppression, and then covering rice straw once to keep warm and moisturize and speed up seedling emergence.

4. Seedling management

When most of the seeds sprout, remove the straw in time, and set up a simple sunshade and sunshade net at the same time. When the seedlings grow to 5-6 cm, remove the straw curtain in batches and remove the straw curtain after seedling emergence and add sunshade net at the same time. Weed and loosen soil in time, water and fertilize properly at the same time, thin seedlings when 3-4 true leaves grow, plant spacing 7-10 cm.
