Flowers are cultivated in narrow pots with limited capacity for soil children; when placed in a sun-ventilated place, the water in the basin soil is very easy to evaporate; if the soil is mixed with a large amount of loose material, drainage is very convenient. There are three reasons mentioned above, so the potted soil is easy to dry. If in the plum season and autumn rain, continuous rain, so that the basin is too wet, of course, there is no need for watering. Especially in the warm and hot weather in summer and the dry period in winter, water transpiration is large, in this case, artificial watering should be used to make up for the lack of water and relieve the "thirst" of potted plants.

One of the keys to pot culture is not to lose moisture throughout the year, especially in summer and winter, pay special attention to watering. If there is too much water, the branches and leaves will grow; for example, the humidity is too high: it is easy to cause the roots of potted plants to rot, and in serious cases it will lead to death. However, due to the lack of water, it is easy to hurt potted plants. if it is short of water for too long, the cells of the plant will shrivel and lose its vitality. although it is too late to reperfuse multi-domain water, it will wilt and die.

No matter Rain Water, river water, well water or tap water, it can be used for watering potted flowers, but salty water or polluted river water is not suitable. In order to ensure the quality of the irrigated water, remove the irritation of the water quality and adjust the temperature of the water, it is more appropriate to store the water in the tank and use it after 24 hours. If the water temperature is high or low without accumulating and pouring, it is not suitable for the root of the plant. All potted plants have different water requirements. When watering, fill the basin mouth with water until it is about to overflow. When watering, if you don't water it, you will pour it thoroughly; if you pour it through, it will drain quickly, and there will be no stagnant water in the basin. However, for potted plants that like foliar spraying and do not like wet pot soil, you can use a fine-hole spray kettle to spray down from the leaves until the water drops wet the basin soil.

Foliar water spraying is to spray water on the branches and leaves of potted plants with a kettle or sprayer, referred to as "leaf water". Conifers, cypress, black pine, five-needle pine, etc., which are native to the mountains, are mostly affected by the moisture of clouds, so they like leaf water very much; leaf water is indispensable, so leaf water is often sprayed from spring to early autumn, which is very beneficial to plant growth; such as rhododendron, heather, Tamarix and so on, they are all flowers and trees native to the mountains, and they also like leaf water. However, some flowers and trees, such as pomegranate, crape myrtle, plum, wood peach, begonia and other broad-leaved trees, if sprayed with leaf water, will make the branches and leaves grow, thus affecting the beauty of the tree shape, and the growth is gradually maladjusted and poor, so it is not suitable to spray leaf water. Flowers and trees dug from the mountains, such as real cypress, five-needle pine, black pine, heather, etc., planted in thick pots or planted on the ground, must always spray water carefully. However, if the leaf water is sprayed too much, it can not survive. Therefore, there is a certain limit to spraying water.

As for the relationship between watering and fertilization, most potted plants, usually after germination, elongate and develop, resulting in growth, after flowering and summer, during which fertilizer is often applied. Such as pomegranate, rhododendron, Michelia and citrus, etc., usually use human feces and urine, bean cake, vegetable cake juice diluent, instead of watering. Apply more fertilizer, should also be more watering, otherwise more fertilizer and less water, fertilizer fermentation will cause root injury, easy to lead to withering. After the summer summer, the crumbs of bean cakes and vegetable cakes can be placed on the surface of the basin soil, with about two or three places in each pot. during watering, the powder gradually dissolves, and part of the fertilizer can penetrate into the soil and be absorbed by the roots. This method is the most convenient and can reduce the stench of evaporation, which is very suitable for the application of family flower cultivation, but the effectiveness of fertilizer is relatively slow.

Flower and fruit plants need the most water when they sprout, but they do not need much water in the mature period of fruit and leisure period in winter, so there is an artificial method to make it blossom and bear more fruit: that is, during the growth of trees, the degree of dryness and wetness of potted soil and air can be adjusted, not too dry and too wet, and often moisturized evenly to achieve the goal. Flowers and trees with deciduous leaves in winter seem to be growing at a standstill, but their life has not stopped and their roots are still growing, but they are slower, so water is indispensable in winter. Cacti can give large amounts of water and fertilizer in summer, while the basin soil needs to be often dry in autumn, winter and spring. Some people think that potted plums can not be watered at 01:00 in the afternoon to dry the potted soil and increase flower buds. In fact, this is not the case. If watered as usual, flower buds can also be increased.

Potted flowers are often watered in summer, but often neglected in winter, which is a common disadvantage of potted flower growers. When the weather is cold, the cherished potted plants are moved indoors for protection, while the ordinary potted plants are put outdoors without watering; some neglect watering, often causing death. Such as pomegranate, crape myrtle, larch, etc., also need water in winter, otherwise it is easy to dry up and die. Therefore, there are conditions, in order to prevent winter blight, move the pot to the south warm ground, bury the pot in the soil to spend the winter, because there is moisture in the soil, can moisten the basin soil, that is, less watering or no watering, it does not matter, in this way, the phenomenon of winter blight due to dryness can be avoided.

In short, flowers and trees potted plants, due to different seasons and types, the number and methods of fertilization and watering are also different. Therefore, during the overwintering period, proper irrigation must be carried out according to the characteristics of all kinds of flowers and trees.
