In response to the pneumonia epidemic in Wuhan, China, the Ministry of Education announced that the school year for senior high schools, originally scheduled for February 11, would be postponed by two weeks to February 25, and classes would be suddenly suspended, troubling organic vegetable farmers who supply nutritious lunch vegetables on campus. It is estimated that more than 300 metric tons of organic and resume vegetables will have nowhere to go, which will be a heavy blow to farmers. Farmers estimate that Taiwan's agricultural losses will exceed 10 million.

Chen Fengyi, an organic vegetable farmer, said that the organic vegetables purchased for nutritious lunches are relatively rare in the market, such as black-leaf cabbage and Hiroshima vegetables, and their specifications are different from those in general. The vegetables grown as campus nutritious lunches are about 80-120 grams each, but they are shipped to the general retail channel, and each vegetable should be controlled below 70 grams. Coupled with the high price of organic vegetables, it is difficult to sell if they are sent to general auctions, and if they are not sold, they can only be ploughed with pain.

Organic green farmers in Yunlin: there are no supporting measures to postpone the start of school, and there are tens of millions of agricultural losses.

Zhuang Laoda, deputy director of the Agriculture and Food Department, said that there are about 1.8 million children in senior high schools and primary and secondary schools in China, and the daily use of short-term leafy vegetables for nutritious lunches is 350 metric tons, of which organic vegetables and production and marketing experience vegetables account for more than 30 metric tons. Based on this, it is estimated that more than 300 metric tons of organic and resume vegetables will be affected after the start of school two weeks later.

Chen Fengyi, president of the friendship of young farmers in Yunlin County, grows organic vegetables to supply nutritious lunches on campus. He heard that the Ministry of Education suddenly announced the postponement of the school year. He said that the epidemic was an unforeseen natural disaster, and then production had to be rescheduled. However, vegetables originally intended to serve nutritious lunches on campus from February 11 have been planted and are expected to be harvested in large quantities on February 7.
