Chen Jizhong, chairman of the Council of Agriculture, said that in recent years, the export quality of Taiwan heading lettuce has become increasingly improved, and it has been harvested without landing and vacuum precooling combined with systematic cold chain technology to stabilize the arrival quality. in its heyday, foreign sales have exceeded 10,000 tons. Japan is the main export country, followed by South Korea, Hong Kong, China and other places. The Council of Agriculture also instructs the industry to actively expand the Middle East and European markets, develop systematic cold chain technology through agricultural experimental research, and achieve accurate production, quality control and application of cold chain technology. With the introduction of a good agricultural cultivation model in the production and marketing class of vegetables in Mailiao, grading, packaging, pre-cooling, low-temperature storage and delivery of lettuce are completed within 4 hours after harvest, so that lettuce can be stored at low temperature for a long time. Extend the fresh period of lettuce export to 28 days (originally 20 days), after deducting the voyage, the shelf time can be maintained for more than 1 week, and maintain the product yield of more than 98%, in order to maintain high quality and create a new opportunity to expand the export long-distance market.

Chen Jizhong, chairman of the Council of Agriculture, said that in the future, the Council of Agriculture will continue to integrate the research and development capacity of experimental research units, work with farmers from producing areas and export operators to introduce intelligent agricultural cultivation and key cold chain management systems, improve the arrival quality of agricultural products for export, and guide export operators to obtain international certification such as GlobalG.A.P., to improve the distribution of global markets in accordance with international norms and target market requirements.
