Guava nutrition high fiber is a healthy holy product, Taiwan guava from this year officially entered the United States, the future trend is optimistic. However, many people do not know that some of the famous Yan Chao Guava brand comes from Jia Xian. What is more special is that among the growers, there are a group of Southeast Asian sisters who regard farming as entrepreneurship. Through planting guava, they win back the right to serve in life and reverse the stereotype of society towards new immigrants.

Compared to the other sisters who were married couples farming together, Rona managed a piece of land alone, and the pressure of family income had to let Rona support herself. Fortunately, the sisters supported each other and gave Lorna the strength of peer support. (Shooting/Lin Jiyang) Instead of choosing one for children and work, it is better to be your own boss "to plant guava as a business"

The first resident sisters of Jiaxian were Shen Wenxiang from Cambodia. Both children were brought up in Bali Park. She said that when she came to Taiwan in 1998, she only said two words: "husband" and "sipping rice."

"There was no other way. At that time, the agent said that as long as he learned these two sentences, he could come! Looking back now, I wonder where the courage came from?" Wen Xiang, who is fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese and can hardly be heard, said with a smile.

Her husband, who drives engineering machinery, often travels to other places for work. Wen Xiang takes care of her family at home. It is not easy to find a job with her children. It just so happens that her husband's uncle is the first farmer to grow guava in Jiaxian. Her aunt advises Wen Xiang to try to grow guava. There is a piece of land behind her husband's house. She thinks,"It's better to be a boss than a dilemma between children and work." With a burst of courage, she "Plant it first and then talk!"

Grow guava, not just accept guava, two children grow up with guava trees

Guava can be harvested in all seasons, only the results need more manpower bagging, and the rest of the management is generally busy. Slowly rent two points here, rent three points there, Shen Wenxiang at most planted two Jia land.

"When the price is good, a guava can earn ten yuan. After deducting the cost, you can earn five or six hundred thousand yuan. However, if the price is not good, when it costs two or three yuan per catty, you will lose money instead of returning to your original cost!" she said.

Although she might not necessarily earn money, she could at least earn time to control her work. She could take care of the children and work. The babies cried under the shade of the trees when they wanted to, and cried themselves to sleep when they were tired. She would occasionally take care of them. The two children grew up with the guava tree and were now raised by the guava tree to go to college.

Pinch finger a calculation, Wen Xiang kind of guava to this year exactly twenty years, she is a little proud and embarrassed to say: "Technology oh, can only say it is OK!"

At present, Wen Xiang is still planting guava, but the area is reduced to her husband's management. She opens a "good kitchen" on the street to promote Cambodia cuisine, and occasionally goes out to cook. She uses a variety of entrepreneurial methods to bring her expertise into play, but also adds to the color of Jiaxian.

On this day, Wen Xiang received a group of medical staff exchange group from Southeast Asia. Wen Xiang introduced the local dishes of Jiaxian in fluent Chinese and Cambodia, which surprised many Southeast Asian friends. (Shooting/Lin Jiyang) There is nothing in the mountains, only land. If you don't want to leave, you have to find a way to survive.

The opportunity for the growth of the team of sisters in Jiaxian came from the Morakot disaster in 2009. After the disaster, there were fewer and fewer tourists, restaurants and hotels closed one by one, and the work of serving plates in restaurants and doing housekeeping in hotels became less and less. Facing the reality that it was difficult to find jobs after the disaster, the sisters paid attention to the guesthouse.

"Seeing that Wen Xiang was planting seeds, I thought that as long as I was willing to learn and do it, maybe I could do it too!" Su Meiyu, also from Cambodia, also introduced her sister to Taiwan. She once served as director of the Nanyang Sisters Association. She said frankly: "Because there is nothing but land in the mountains, if you don't leave after the typhoon, you have to find a way to survive!"

Rona, from the Philippines, worked in a hotel before the disaster and graded at a bar fair after the disaster. Seeing how hard it was to farm under the sun, she was reluctant to part with her white bubble skin and thought to herself,"I don't want to farm under the sun."

Under economic pressure and independent choice of time, Meiyu, Meifang or Luo Na, sisters one by one, this group of guava sisters lineup increasingly large, each person's planting area is mostly about one Jiadi, currently more than a dozen, planting area approaching twenty Jiadi.

Sisters learn and grow under pressure, support each other in life, and even grow guava to exert community power. Guava grows, and when they are idle, they go to other people's parks to help. How to manage from Bali Paradise, how to put fertilizer, what to pay attention to when using medicine? Brace yourself to learn and sell now, and support each other.

"Today, I'll go help with my work. When I'm busy with farming and need to bag bags, you can help me again." Su Meiyu said that the warm atmosphere of sisters 'flexible unity and mutual assistance seems to have stirred the mountain farmers who were used to fighting alone.

This group of willing to do and studious "new residents" quickly received praise, see their work "top true", positive studious attitude, parlor farmers are also willing to pour technology to teach each other. Guava is a major agricultural product in Jiaxian. More than half of the farmers in the township have guava. The participation of sisters provides a group of hardworking and skilled workers to adjust the problem of lack of work.
