Celery is one of the common vegetables in our daily life, and with the popularization of greenhouse technology, a lot of celery is cultivated through greenhouse, and fertilization of celery in greenhouse is an important work, which is affected by traditional fertilization habits. There are some misunderstandings in fertilization of celery in greenhouse. So what are the misunderstandings of fertilization of celery in greenhouse? Let's get to know it.

1. Apply immature organic fertilizer

Organic fertilizer has small ratio of carbon to nitrogen and fast decomposition. High temperature and high concentration of chlorine and organic acid will be produced locally in the process of decomposition, which can easily cause root burning of vegetables. On the other hand, there are pathogens and insect eggs in the unmature farm manure, which can easily infect diseases and insect pests if they are applied directly without any treatment. In addition, if the farm manure is applied and then ripened, ammonia will also be produced and the seedlings will be burned.

2. Excessive fertilization

Celery in greenhouse is often overfertilized, especially when chemical fertilizer is applied too much at one time, it is very easy to produce fertilizer damage, resulting in difficulties in water absorption of crop roots, resulting in rigid seedlings and deformed leaves, which will cause crops to wither and die gradually in serious cases.

3. Partial application of chemical fertilizer

When a certain nutrient is overapplied, it will cause celery to resist other elements, leading to the occurrence of element deficiency. For example, the partial application of nitrogen fertilizer will cause the phosphorus, potassium fertilizer and trace elements in the soil to decrease with the increase of greenhouse age, resulting in the imbalance of soil nutrients, resulting in a variety of diseases. When celery is deficient in calcium, it will cause dry heartburn, and when the salt content is too high, it will also inhibit the absorption and utilization of calcium in roots, resulting in physiological calcium deficiency. Partial application of potassium fertilizer will reduce the effectiveness of calcium, magnesium and boron fertilizer, while partial application of phosphate fertilizer will reduce the effectiveness of calcium, zinc and boron fertilizer.

4. Long-term application of chlorine-containing chemical fertilizer

Chlorine can reduce the starch content in vegetables, resulting in the decline of vegetable varieties and yield, and the residue in the soil will cause soil acidification, resulting in soil calcium deficiency and soil consolidation. All these are not conducive to the growth and development of celery, so it is not suitable to apply chlorine-containing chemical fertilizer for a long time.

The above is the introduction of common misunderstandings of celery fertilization in the greenhouse. I hope it can help you. If you want to know more about it, please follow us.
